“This tiny place with the small burgers packs a powerful flavor punch! We almost didn't find it because GPS told us it was on the right side of the street but it was actually on the left. One small red door and a small sign hanging above is what you need to look for along with the historical marker on the wall. There are maybe a dozen 2 person tables inside. You sit at the table of your choosing and someone will take your order. Hubs and I both had the #3 Combo which is a single cheeseburger with mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomato and I think a little bit of onion. It comes with a coca, chips of your choice (plain Lays, Doritos, Fritos and maybe hot Cheetos) and a twinkie for $7. We upgraded to a Mexican coke for a small upcharge. They do take cards with an added $2 fee. This place was very busy when we came in but they're quick (and friendly) and people move along so others may have a table or many get it to go. We will return as the historic downtown area is also nice to walk around although it was pouring rain and lightning this day. There is parking on the street but you may have to park around the block and take a short walk. We enjoyed this piece of history. By the way, there is no on-site restroom.“

“Placed an order through the phone for pickup and when we went to pick it up there was a group of employees just standing , chit chatting , doing nothing, asked about picking up an order and a lady said Karina would help me, but Karina seemed the only one to be working , gave her a tip, for helping. “I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoy the food at this particular Emilia’s location. The restaurant is consistently busy, which speaks to its popularity. Parking can be somewhat limited and tight, especially during peak hours.
One of the highlights is the value offered with their lunch specials, which typically include a small bowl of soup (fideo) and a dessert such as tres leches cake or flan—an added touch that enhances the overall dining experience. The restaurant is also well-maintained, with cleanliness clearly being a priority.
At times, the staff can appear overwhelmed due to the high volume of customers, and I have occasionally encountered service that felt less attentive. However, I understand that this may be due to heavy workloads or the training of new employees during busy periods.
Despite this, the quality of the food keeps me coming back. I highly recommend the Guadalajara Plate—it is exceptional. Overall, I truly enjoy dining here and would visit every day if I could.“

“We have been by many Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen restaurants and never stopped. We did finely and it was very good. We will go to another as we travel around this awesome country of ours. Great job team. Food was great and the service was just as good. We stopped in on a Sunday and sat right down. We just beat the church crowd. When we left they were waiting outside.“

“The Enchiladas Monterrey that my wife had were more than enough to take home. Large portions. The Durango Quesadilla that I had was very well seasoned with lots of carne asada and cheese. The meals come with soup and dessert. Highly recommend!!“

“Most importantly, the food is great! The decor is nice enough and the drinks are typical for a restaurant. But besides the food, what sets Dirty Al’s apart from the rest it’s their service! Starting from the bar, through the wait staff and ending with the manager, the Brownsville location will do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable. Denise the manager, Karla my waiter, Rick & Clarita my bartenders get special mentions. Great place, great food and a good time. P.S. The daily lunch special is affordable and delicious. The staff were super friendly and kept the area clean and welcoming. Prices are affordable, and the overall experience was excellent. Definitely one of the best buffets in town — I’ll be coming back!“

“If you ever had Bigos, this is a great place to grab and go. It's small inside so not the best for dining in, but totally doable.
The quality of the carne asada cannot be overstated. Even after driving back to the hotel and finding a place to sit and eat (15 min) the food was hot and so tender. Seriously, this is not like many fajita places where you are chewing this like a jerky adjacent product. It's soft flavorful and easy to chew.
Sides were tasty but the meat really steals the show.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Conchas at the Bakery!
I had an excellent experience at the bakery recently and had to share! The fresh conchas came out warm with that perfect crunchy sugar topping — sweet and buttery on the outside, soft and fluffy inside.
They had that classic authentic flavor with just the right amount of sweetness in every bite. My family and I couldn’t get enough!

The service was friendly and attentive, the shop was clean and welcoming, and the value was spot-on for the quality. We left completely satisfied and happy.

This was easily one of our best bakery stops in a while — highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back soon. 🍞“

“Usually our togo place for chinese usually very good this last time wasnt the greatest. The lo mein and soups were very good but the shrimp fried rice had way too much onion and egg than normal. The shrimp was also a little weird. But as always staff was nice and place looked clean.“
