I have finally been here!!!! The barbacoa is on point. We had the cachete lengua mix. You can definitely tell the quality of their cooking skills. It was perfect on a tortilla with the cilantro and cebolla and salsita. The meat texture was on point and the service was incredible. Vera's has some of the best barbacoa in the RGV. It's surprising that not many people know of this place. The barbacoa is made in el poso (hole)which helps the flavor concentrate. They offer menudo, carnitas, brisket and of course barbacoa. Best place to take the family to in the weekend!

My mouth waters when I think of this place. Saw this on the Texas Bucket List show, and my husband and I gave it a try. Truly the best cachete (cheek meat from a cow) I've ever had! The staff is above and beyond. Mr. & Mrs. Vera are down to earth and make their customers feel welcome and appreciated. Only open Friday thru Sunday till 2:30. GOTTA TRY IT!
