First time here but it won’t be our last. The Tennessee chicken salad on croissant was recommended by our waitress when we asked her to help us out with ordering. Very good! We were casually dressed and the name of the restaurant made us wonder if we would be underdressed but not at all. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Although the restaurant looks a little run down, the food and service were amazing, particularly given the price. Our party are the Mediterranean Wrap, Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the Asian Crunch Salad. Servers were incredibly warm and attentive. I just wish we lived closer so that wet could return soon.
Their Reuben was wonderful, especially with sweet potato fries. Chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere.

Texas Tea Room serves great food, including home-style cooked dishes like the delicious chicken fried steak and fantastic burgers, possibly the best in Texas. The service is excellent, with friendly and down-to-earth waitresses who take pride in their work. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, with a rich history and beautiful decor. Guests also love the BLT with Brie & Apricot Mayonnaise and the Reuben, calling them some of the best they’ve had. The kitchen is beautifully clean, and the staff enjoys working there, making it a must-stop restaurant in Carthage. Overall, it's a highly recommended spot with great food and excellent service.
