Shrimp cocktail is great and always very consistent.
Had the oyster plate. Nothing special, came with fries. Wish their fries are better cuts. Oysters were fresh, but smaller than their picture. The dish would do better if it comes with pickled veggies or hush puppies or coleslaw. I do like the layout of the restaurant.
I have been to this restaurant since I was 20 years old. My favorite el golf items are the chips, and guacamole, and the stir fried shrimp Chipotle.

El Golfo Sea Food Bar offers excellent food and service in an unassuming setting. The seafood tostada, shrimp cooked with garlic, and fried shrimp basket are all delicious and fresh, surpassing the quality of some restaurants in the nearby South Padre area. The staff, such as the waitress Irene, provide great recommendations and service, creating a small-town vibe.
