Frio Loco | Coffee & Shaved Ice is a nice little Crystal Beach gem and a must-visit on the Bolivar Peninsula. It is hands-down the best spot for shaved ice, serving the best shaved ice ever and phenomenal sandwiches. The Hawaiian-style snow cone, with fluffy, perfectly shaved ice and incredible flavor, is a highlight, especially with additions like tart sauce, vanilla cream, or condensed milk. The shaved ice is a scientific experience you can eat, with a perfect balance of sweetness in every bite and a controlled melt rate.
The shop also has awesome coffee, with great options like salty blonde, banana nut, and beachcomber. Other items include smoothies, like the strawberry banana, and mini donuts. You can order lunch, dinner, or a snack and top it off with a delicious shaved ice for dessert. The service is warm, friendly, and quick, with staff that make every item with love.
