Good food, great staff, good service considering the staff still in training
The food was pretty good but the service was terrible, guy at the register mumbled and acted like it was his first time in public they got our order wrong and forgot some items. The guy in the back was picking his nose also
The chicken strips and rolls are yummy, and the house sauce is good. But my fried okra was soggy (like maybe it was fried a while ago in a large batch, instead of to order - it was so soggy the box was getting soggy!), and the mashed potatoes were flavorless. The white gravy was weird, but it could be that I'm just not used to white gravy (I'm not from the South)...it was almost sweet when I was expecting savory. Golden Chick offers excellent chicken wings that are wonderfully tasty and served at just the right temperature. The food is a hit or miss, sometimes perfect but sometimes undercooked or overcooked. It would be nice if the staff made the restaurant feel more welcoming, as the vibe can feel off. However, customers also praise the hot and fresh food, including the fluffy rolls and crunchy chicken. The service can be quick and courteous, and the friendly staff and generous drink sizes make it a great stop for travelers passing through.
