“I always come here since like 2 years ago and the vibes are always chill. I enjoy the prices and the crowd that goes is older which I prefer. You don't really see people sloppy here or starting fights or anything everyone minds their own business and doesn't really cause problems. You see a lot of regulars here and you can shoot some pool with friends. They also have slot machines and darts. I really come here because of the crowd.“

I honestly only appear down in Deep Ellum on rare occasions but this is one the spots I would tell anyone looking for a good local dive bar to go to, Elm Street Saloon is the place. A lot of the community down there also definitely hangs always at this place and there’s a great reason why, it’s a great place.“

“I was in Dallas for training. Googled for a blues bar and zeroed in on The Goat. It was 30 mins drive from my hotel at DFW South but I made the best decision to go.
Great atmosphere, friendly people, awesome bar staff, blues jam night. Will surely go again if I’m ever in Dallas again!“

“On first sight, I thought the place was gonna be empty. I passed this place all the time because I live a block over I was pleasantly surprised upon entering very busy pool tables apparent regulars that frequent the bar. It was almost like an episode of cheers. I ordered the BLT. It was delicious. The bacon was crispy the lettuce and tomato were fresh lightly toasted bread, pleasantly surprisedI would give the food five stars, but I haven’t tried the entire menu until then. It’s a solid four stars.“

“Good neighborhood hole in the wall. DJ Playing all kinds of music. Live Tejano/Spanish type music on Saturdays. Very casual dress code. Bring your own liquor bottle as they only serve beer and set ups. Need about 1 or 2 more restrooms. Front patio. Clientele is more of the blue collar type of people. Not to bad of a place. Hardly ever any drama there since the crowd is mostly 35 and up.“

“One of the best chill bars. They have pool and other games upstairs. Great place to bring your buddies for a quick game. Staff is always friendly and quick, they don’t ignore you like at other bars. If you’re lucky, someone will bring their dog in with them and they’ll let you pet it.“

“No food, but Yoo-hoo YeeHaw is AWESOME!!! It’s White Russian meets white trash!!! Or an adult frosty; super yummy! HH is crazy cheap!!! Music varies tremendously; sometimes fun stuff I know, usually deep cuts I don’t recognize. Dog friendly! Bar usually has a few pooches hanging out.“

“My partner & I are in town for the holidays from Salt Lake City & were told about Time Out Tavern. Everything that was mentioned by the Uber driver was on point. The atmosphere was chill AF, there's a male bartender with braids who gave exceptional customer service not to mention the door guy was down to earth with a lot of knowledge & that bearded. WOOF! With that said there was a female bartender who could use A LOT of coaching conversations by management as her rudeness was never asked for & customer service lacked. I still give this bar five stars & will recommend it to others.“

“Definitely a hidden gem! Was taken here by a client and was blown away, I've driven past this location a number of times. Love dive hidden bars, they have such character and charm.

The music was great, the customers were friendly and the drinks were well poured!

“Nice bar split in 2 sides. One is the bar side. The other is tables, pool table etc. I kinda felt bad for the bartender. She was pretty busy by herself. The bar does not have a kitchen but you can order in from local places. There is also a small patio. Parking is valet or street parking the the neighborhood.“

“My girlfriend and I stopped here during our layover. The vagabond burger is a veggie burger made in house with sriracha, pickled red onions, and avocado toppings. The toppings with the burger worked really well together! The burger was delicious as is and the fries had the perfect amount of salt. Burger does fall apart easily/is messy so I recommend cutting it in half to more easily handle it. Not a long wait time and they bring the food to you. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-04“

“Louie's is a fantastic old school bar/restaurant with a following like no other. Casey and John behind the bar for 20-something years are a testament to Louie's greatness. For a dive place like this, the food to outsiders is surprisingly excellent! It is known for arguably the BEST pizza in all of Dallas, but we also love the Souvlaki, Pork Chop, Grilled Chicken as well as the Lamb Chops and Ribeye.

Louie's is not a large place and there can be wait times during the peak hours to get a table or a seat at the bar, so if you're going during these hours or days, it might take a few minutes to get a place to sit...but typically, something will open up in a reasonable amount of time.
