This is honestly my favorite restaurant I have ever been to. I first tried it about a month ago, and I am still shocked by how good the food was. The service and atmosphere were both great, but I cannot say enough about the food. Chef, thank you for serving me some of the tastiest sashimi I have ever had. Nigiri purist here. By far one of the best I've had in Dallas - has an edge over Uchi and Yujo. Damien was an expert at fish cutting and any added flavors were artfully done. Highly recommend their specials list.

First time trying it here and I was highly impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. I went on a Wednesday and upon walking in had the option of sitting wherever we wanted. We chose to sit at the sushi bar. We got some spicy edamame and the ceviche for an appetizer and some drinks to start off the night. Shortly after we ordered, our sushi started getting made. Located in Bishop Arts, Otaru Sushi & Handroll Bar is a popular spot where the food quality is exceptional. The fish is always fresh, and the rolls are delicious. Regulars love the 5 hand rolls, and the birthday roll is a standout. The cucumber salad is light and refreshing. The food, drinks, and service are consistently amazing. The interior is incredible and the atmosphere is unmatched, making guests feel transported. The staff is super friendly and sweet. While it is about $7–8 more expensive than typical sushi buffets, the quality far exceeds the price difference. Prices are reasonable; dinner for two is a little under $140. It is a very popular spot, so making a reservation is highly recommended, as many people without reservations wait outside. This is a perfect tucked away gem in the Bishop Arts area.
