Slow Bone BBQ Reviews
First off, we were the first customers of the day. Literally waited 25 mins until they opened (we live 3hrs away) We were greeted by two kind gentlemen. I wanted to order 3 meats to try since it was our first time and they accommodated my request as they don’t have a 3 meat plate. The food and service are TOP tier. We will definitely be coming back.
For me to be a judge in hundreds of bbq competitions around the country since 2015, I was incredibly shocked that I hadn’t heard of this place until I saw it on an episode of Diners, Drive In’s and Dives! Had to try it out when I came back to Dallas….and boy let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint!!

Slow Bone is one of the premier BBQ Joints in all of DFW. The Ribs and Smoked Chicken are easily the best in town, the Brisket is incredible and they were even voted best Fried Chicken in DFW a time or two. The sides are all excellent, but the brisket beans and sweet potato praline stand above the rest. You won’t be disappointed with anything on the menu. Come early. Come often. Thank me later.

Slow Bone BBQ offers a great location for meat plates and sandwiches, with a variety of sides to choose from. The restaurant has ample seating and parking available. Customers praise the delicious BBQ, especially the ribs, brisket, and turkey, which are tender and fall off the bone easily with very little fat. The sausage and potato salad are also highly recommended, with some describing the horseradish potato salad as the best they have ever had. The beans and hush puppies are flavorful and satisfying. Portions are large, and the friendly customer service adds to the positive experience. While the prices can be on the higher side, the quality of food makes it worthwhile. The cozy interior and welcoming atmosphere make it a popular spot for authentic BBQ in Dallas. However, customers note that there is no tri tip on the menu, and desserts could be improved. Overall, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression, especially for those who enjoy good BBQ and memorable sides.
