“Had always been a little bit suspicious about this place thinking it was just trying to capture travelers coming into Dallas. Boy was I wrong! This place is legit. It rivals all the best places in DFW. Heck, may even be the best! The pork belly burnt ends are unique and amazing! Best beans I’ve ever had as well. Will definitely be back!“

“First off, we were the first customers of the day. Literally waited 25 mins until they opened (we live 3hrs away) We were greeted by two kind gentlemen. I wanted to order 3 meats to try since it was our first time and they accommodated my request as they don’t have a 3 meat plate. The food and service are TOP tier. “This is a old-school BBQ joint on Leonard Street in downtown. They have a fair sized indoor seating and some outside tables as well. You can do take-away as well. Opening hours are 11am to 3pm (lunch only), closed on Sundays. Had a very good lunch here recently. The chopped beef sandwich was delicious, sides of okra, potato casserole and beans were great. Ended up taking home a large order of brisket, sausage and more sides for a larger group of friends for the evening. Everyone loved the meal. Two Sammy's meals in one day and was left wanting more. Would gladly return based on this experience.“

“Great hole in the wall Mexican bbq place. I had some Al pastor tacos and brisket sandwich. The tacos had onions and cilantro and I got the green medium hot salsa (which was a good medium spice level). The brisket sandwich was good sized and came with pickles and onions and warmed bbq sauce.“

“I ordered on the kiosk and had the food 15 minutes later. Hot and fresh and lots of flavor. I got the 3 combo plate and banana lumpia. I recommend the chargrilled chicken. Barrel & Bones felt like entering a Fire-type Gym where the pitmaster had clearly invested heavily into BBQ Attack stats. The staff brought strong Support Trainer energy throughout the battle, staying attentive and making sure the experience never felt neglected.

The Smoked Prime Brisket Burger came out looking like it knew Body Slam and immediately proved it. Between the soft brisket, melted American cheese, fresh toppings, and perfectly toasted brioche bun, every bite landed super-effective damage. The sandwich barely held together, but honestly, if your BBQ burger isn’t threatening your shirt with a cleanup, are you even fighting the right Gym Leader?

The baked beans delivered powerful smoky flavor, the queso was loaded with cheesy Special Attack, and the Sweet & Spicy sauce added a respectable Fire-type kick for Trainers wanting extra damage output. The only move that missed its target was the Dr Pepper, which felt a little too watered down. Even so, Barrel & Bones is the kind of place that leaves you planning your rematch before you’ve fully left the battlefield. I easily earned its badge!“
