This place is a hidden gem! I live in Temple, however my father is in a memory care facility in Georgetown. I take my mother to lunch every Wednesday prior to taking her to visit my father. Tired of the same places, I found this cafe a few months back on Google. We have visited probably 6 or 8 times since (most recently today), and yet to find anything about the place we haven't enjoyed!
I was told to try Simmer Down Cafe, as we are new to Sun City area. The moment I walked in, I knew this place is going to be good? It's very home style, wait staff was super friendly, I felt very welcome, almost like sitting in the middle of a dinning hall of a small town, where everyone knows everybody. Buffet style Sunday brunch. Food was Delicious, I have to come back again for dinner one of these nights.

This place is the place to go if you are looking for a true southern classic, chicken fried steak. This is by far the best chicken fried steak I have eaten since Bon Ton in La Grange Texas shut down (many years ago). I have also tried their chicken tenders and they were amazing as well now I have a huge internal debate with myself each time I we order as to chicken tenders or chicken fried steak.
