Picos Restaurant Reviews
Our experience for a group of 6 at the Sunday Brunch was outstanding. There were so many unique dishes that aren't easy to find outside of Mexico. Even the prime rib, boiled shrimp and pasties were outstanding.
Hope they find a new location very soon One of our go to places for a family celebration for 30 plus years
Always outstanding and exceeds expectations. Service and food presentation is always consistent. Hoping they are able to stay in this location.

Picos Restaurant is a Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston. The exterior is inviting, and the interior is well-decorated with a few dashes of Latin American flair. The menu offers a variety of Tex-Mex staples and signature dishes, with an extensive margarita list. Picos boasts “the birthplace of the shaker margarita.” They offer complimentary chips and salsa, including a red salsa with an almost marinara flavor and a delicious green sauce. Customers can order online and buy margarita mix from their online store.
Some experiences have been lively, with delicious food, impeccable service, and lovely ambiance. However, other visits have been disappointing. One large party of 50 experienced under-staffing and slow service. Another guest noted a decline in quality, finding the horchata less sweet and the seasonal soft shell crabs reheated. The Menudo was described as one of the worst, with too much chili powder. The Pibil pork was bland and overcooked, with too much vinegar. The ambiance, while classy, is considered a bit outdated and tired by some. The food is seen as mediocre and not worth the prices paid. Despite great memories of dishes like banana leaf tamales and mole, recent experiences have led to mixed reviews.
