I am so sad they're gone!! Their Cafe con Chocolate was perfect! I've been craving it ever since. I'll have to try and learn to make it myself. The pop up cafe was awesome. We loved sitting on top and visiting. It was a neat experience. Their empanadas were surprisingly very good. I wish I had ordered some. I tried my cousin's and they were tasty. I did buy a can and glad I did. My second trip only cost me 80 cents because after my first visit, I signed up for their emails and received a free drink on next visit plus a discount.

Delicious, fun new coffee pop-up in Montrose! Cafe Bustelo is a coffee pop up shop using a crate with the shop inside and seating on top and outside in front. Would be a wonderful way to spend relaxing with friends outside. Cuban Spanish music set to the whirrs of coffee machines and aroma of espresso- what's not to like? I got the cafe con leche, iced since summer heat is setting in, and it is delicious! I do like my coffee a little sweet but did not find the sweetness to be overpowering and the sweetened milk paired deliciously with the cool expresso. Reminds me of the cafe con leche my Grandma makes (even my Dad who grew up in Florida gave it a thumbs up!) TIP: Sign up for their rewards (but make sure to check the box on the screen at checkout). You sign up with your email and you get a free medium drink as a bonus! You can buy a variety of coffee goods on site- Keurig pods, ground coffee, instant etc to keep the party going at home. Parking is in a cement, gravel lot right off the lawn the shop is on. It did suffer some wear/tear after recent storms (watch the dip in pavement on the entry way up), but overall I'm always thankful for a nearby free parking lot. If I had discovered this earlier in the spring, I would have stopped by on a weekly basis! Here until May 25!

I came here on an early Saturday morning and so the line was not terribly long. My friend and I waited less than 10 minutes to order and about 5 or so minutes to receive our order. There was a bunch of parking spots in the back lot and a few seats inside and more outside. I came here because: A. I love coffee- I love the actual bitter taste of coffee, I'm not one of those people that loads their coffee with cream and sugar so you can't actually TASTE the coffee B. It's walkable to where I live C. The hype- I had never heard of Café Bustelo before but have heard rave reviews from friends I ended up ordering the Café con leche and the carne pastelito. The café con leche was waay too sweet for me. And I didn't add any extra sugar or flavored shots to it. My friend who was with me and loves sweets even commented that she thought it was sweet as well! The coffee was made well and was strong but the sweetness overpowered the drink so I wasn't able to finish it. The carne pastelito was fresh and flaky- delicious! Overall, this is a cute pop up to experience but I wouldn't return. And I definitely would not wait in a long line for this.

Cool pop-up concept in Houston showcasing the brand. Went on a Sunday and there was a line out the door. The menu is simple but they make their coffee very well, had the iced cafe con Leche. They also have a guava pastry and chicken or beef empanadas which were good to go with the coffee. Seating space is limited if you're with a group or it's packed, but there's plenty of lawn space to stand and enjoy a fine cup of Bustelo Coffee. I believe they're there till the 25th.

I came here on a Sunday in the afternoon and waited for about 30-40 mins. Not recommended for someone who is in a rush. Super cute, Instagram worthy place to visit at least one time before May 25. There are some seats on top of their boxcar and also on the ground accompanied with umbrellas for shade. Iced Cafe con chocolate (8/10): two sizes ($4 & $4.50) and available as hot. This reminds of an iced mocha but way way better than the one at Starbucks. I believe they use real chocolate which is fantastic! I'm a s***** for fresh ingredients. Underneath the chocolate is their sweetened espresso and on top is fresh whole milk. You can ask for soy milk as well. Perfect mixture of bitterness and sweetness. I would love to get this more often if this place wasn't out of my way. Colada (10/10): Double sweetened espresso. One of the smoothest espresso I have ever had! It will definitely give you a boost of energy for a few hours! Cafe Frio (6/10): Basic iced coffee. I drank it plain without adding any creamer or sweetener so this drink was average to me based on my preference. Beef/Chicken Empanada ($2.50): Good snack to go with your coffee of choice. Not the best that I have ever had but it kept me full. Guava Pastelitos ($2): Delicious puff pastry stuffed with a thin layer of guava jam. Although, it might taste a little too sweet for some people if you don't take pauses in between each bite and wash it down with some coffee. I still like it though! The line can be long but once you're at the counter, your order doesn't take long to complete.

Expensive and you have to stand in line in the heat. The iced mocha was tasty but $4 for mostly ice. The spinach and cheese empanada wasn't that great. I've had better. Great colors and concept though!

3.5 stars. My coffee loving husband is always looking for new places to try, and finding this new coffee stand/pop up on yelp, we decided to stop by. The pop up is literally the back of an 18-wheeler truck converted into a coffee shop with plenty of parking as well as seating in front (on fake grass!) and on top of the shop. So creative! After talking to the cashier we found out that Café Bustelo is actually a coffee brand from the US and have been selling their coffee at grocery stores (Kroger, Walmart, etc) for awhile. This is their first pop up location and they will be packing up for the northeast at the end of May. We opted for a medium coffee, a guava cheese pastelito and chicken empanada. Coffee was decent, but tasted a little bit diluted. Guava cheese pastelito wasn't bad, but I thought the pastry wasn't buttery enough and needed more filling. Chicken empanada was good and I would probably return for another one. Overall a innovative concept and was fun to visit!

Quick, easy parking, and delicious! Stopped by here after lunch on a Thursday and there was no line at all. This pop up is a bright yellow storage container on Montrose - you can't miss it! I also really liked that they had soy milk options for us lactose intolerant peeps Cafe con chocolate - really chocolate-y and sweet!! Cafe con leche - tastes bitter and strong Size medium is about $4 Check this place out!

Probably the cutest coffee pop up in Houston right now. The right place to enjoy some coffee and the nice weather we've been having recently. Drinks were strong and sweet. Highly recommend. I went during the week around midday and not crowded at all but have heard during weekends it can get really busy.

We finally went to Cafe Bustelo. We had a very nice time over there. They have different kinds of coffee (Hot and Iced) and Delicious pastries. Prices are very affordable. The staff is very Friendly. There's a restroom inside. You have to plan your visit because you would spend at least 35-45 minutes to get your order. I'll post some pictures so you can have an idea of what it is. I personally enjoyed it!

This is so cool, glad we found it. My hubby was born drinking espresso being Cuban American. Knew he would love it, he was very happy. Espresso was great and they also had empanadas. Think we'll be coming here often while we're in town.

Amazing place for amazing coffees and empanadas. The coffee may come as super strong to many. Make sure that u ask them to customize it according to your taste and preference. They have both hot and iced coffees. The prices are very reasonable and totally worth every penny of it. The place also has a petit patio and a very cute roof. Great place to hang out with friends and family. Would totally recommend

Cafe Bustelo pop up is only here until May 25 so catch them while you can! They repurposed a frack tank into a bright yellow cafe, so you can't miss it. There's so much hype around it that the line took about half an hour to get through on a nice Saturday afternoon. The wait was totally worth it! I got the iced cafe con leche (small $4, large $4.50). Strong coffee with the perfect balance of sweetness. I absolutely love it. They have unsweetened soy milk for anyone who can't have dairy as well.

Three words to describe this "pop up" coffee shop: "it's just HYPE" Houstonians! Do not be fooled by this trendy pop up coffee shop perched in the Montrose neighborhood. We fell into their trap of what we thought was going to be really awesome coffee, but turns out it tasted worse than a coffee made with a Kuerig. We stood in line for over 30 minutes for mediocre, low quality iced coffee with hazelnut syrup...We also bought the tres leches dessert and it was disgusting. It was dry, and had little flavor and looked and tasted like you could buy it from a local convenient store rather than a trendy coffee shop. While the idea is cute and the execution for the decor is on point, they failed at making good coffee. Also on a hot day, customers will cluster around you to avoid the heat and make your experience awkward...I had some guys butt in my face... Not cool We ordered 2x Medium Iced Hazelnut coffees + 1 tres leches and wasted $20 Down the toilet. So disappointing! Don't go here and don't waste your time or money.
