Credence is a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and a campfire feel, where items are cooked over an open flame. The food receives mixed reactions. Some dishes are excellent, including the light and Smokey monkey bread, the extremely tasty tuna appetizer, and great main courses like the light, flakey snapper and a thick, well-seasoned steak. The creamed mashed potatoes are a highlight, and the chocolate peanut butter tart is wonderful. Other items, however, like the deviled crabs which were delicious, can be contrasted with the ham and cheese on cornbread, which was dry and flavorless. Portions are sometimes considered tiny for the high price. The service is consistently described as great, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
