Took my 90 year old Mom in for a treat! She had the grilled catfish and the delicious sweet potatoes. I had a filet with the twice baked potato, along with the sautéed spinach. My Mom kept eating my spinach off my plate. She said that was freshest and most well prepared spinach she has ever tasted! My steak could have not been more tender. My Mom and I both loved the decor. Love this place. I have been several times, always trying something different. Never disappointed. Also alot of places are too loud and it gets hard to have conversations (especially when I have dad), no issue here. Great atmosphere. Love the old building. I am picky with my steaks...had the beef filet a few months ago, it was cooked exactly how I asked, very juicy, didnt need a knife, had a great flavor. I finally tried this place after hearing about it constantly since they opened. Eugene’s happy hour menu is one of the better ones in the River Oaks area. Fresh Gulf Oysters on the half shell are $1.25 a piece. Half a dozen is only $7.50 and a dozen is $15. The oysters were very fresh and plump. Priced at $12.95 the Calamari Dillon appears to be expensive for Happy Hour but the bartender informed me that it is a full order which normally goes for $16.45.
