Visitors praise the cheap drinks and phenomenal atmosphere, with people of all walks of life and queerness present. The bartenders, including David, Joe, Sam, and Rito, are some of the best in Houston. Ripcord hosts a wide variety of drag shows, with Basura on Monday nights being a favorite. While classified as a leather gay bar, it’s so much more—spotlighting Latin, Asian, Black, male, female, and everyone else on stage. The security team is professional and acts with cause if needed. The patio is one of the nicest in Montrose, making it a popular spot for people to relax and watch the lively scene.
