Wendy's in Houston

“We recently discovered how fabulous the Wendy's Cob Salad is. My wife usually has the Chick-fil-A cob salad. But the Wendy's Cob Salad is cheaper and has more eggs and more chicken based on what my wife said. I've been a Wendy's Chili lover for almost 50 years. In the late 1970s I even interviewed for a position at a new Wendy's in Houston. They were just coming to Houston then. But having to fill in for absent employees didn't appeal to me as a Manager. But that hasn't stopped me from eating at Wendy's for decades.“

“The breakfast honey ? chicken ? sandwich had a non chicken texture. It was too dense. The honey was minimal but the breakfast fries ? always surpasses any other restaurant serving breakfast fries.

The customer service was great so the visit was worth it and I will go again but I will order something other than the honey chicken combo.“

“I placed an order for an Asiago Ranch Chicken Club combo at the drive-thru. The young man who took my order was very polite. I live about 13 minutes away, and my food was still warm when I arrived home. My chicken sandwich was delicious; not every location prepares it this well, which is why I'm happy to drive a little further.“

“Wonderful inviting staff, noticed me right away. I order a large chilli and Dave's single w/cheese no pickle.
Didn't need to ask for anything a second time and service from order to table was expeditious.
Clean lobby not an out of order anything. Wholesome laughter and a high moral team feeling.
I'd go every day if I actually lived in the same area.
Totally satisfied with this particular Wendy's.

“I had order #1104, came here on 11/24/2025, and their service here was pretty cool compared to most places. They went out of their way to suggest a less expensive option that would get me more than what I wanted, awesome people and the manager Martha, super cool lady, would come again“

“Was immediately greeted with a friendly voice who was very patient with me when I asked for some time to think about my order. I'm not sure his name but the handsome brother who spoke spanish gave excellent service and even gave me an estimated time for my order. Top tier service deserves recognition and praise. Ordered at 11:10 pm which makes it all the more impressive“

“I had one of the specials I really , enjoyed my meal it was very refilling but my Frosty brought back great memories over 30 years ago , the last time I had dreamsicle wow ,the frosty was a hit ? wonderful ?? “It was close to closing time when I arrived. But the staff was friendly. Service was quick and my order was correct. Only minor complaints was that a lid wasn't put on my Frosty and a Dave's Single combo and small Frosty came out to $15!“

“I love the cheeseburgers. I like using the app to order and the special deals on the app. But--- the service at the pick up window is bad. Really grumpy, argumentative woman kind of ruins your meal before you even start. And it's not just a "she's having a bad day" -- she's always that way.“

“I was craving a burger so I went to this Wendy's. I got a baconator and it was delicious. The lady who helped me was super nice. My order was correct and reasonably fast. I tried a new tangerine drink and it was ok - a little more tart than I had expected but otherwise good.“

“I go to Wendy's all the time but I got a Dave's single tonight that was just absolutely delicious. I'm not sure why sometimes the beef is so tasty like that and other times it's kind of just normal or bland, but tonight was absolute perfection!“

“I was a bit slow in telling the lady I had pulled up an offer on the app so I received a good scolding only for the offer to not work. The drink machine is always malfunctioning so you get 1 soda from the drive-thru fountain and a refill gers you dirty looks. Food is always fresh though. 249 across from Walmart near “

“It's the third time I try this restaurant and I got to say that I love their spicy chicken sandwhich. Service is good and friendly. They took a bit long to make my food but it was worth the wait. Their chocolate frosty is delicious also.“

The food was good and didn't take long once ordered.“

“Food quality was good per usual trips. Customer service was adequate, they were quick but so quick that they were rushing me as if there was a whole like up of 20 cars behind me. It was early morning and i was the only one in line for a good 7-10 mins until another cust arrived behind me. I could barely put my stuff up before they handed me my items.“

“My husband and I visited the Wendy's next to the Shell gas station, and overall, it was a pleasant experience! The staff was really friendly, and we appreciated that they checked in on us, even though they were quite busy. The place itself was clean and quiet, which was nice. Food: My burger's bun was cold, and the spicy nuggets were a little hard. Other than that everything was okay.“

“Wendy's is just about the ONLY fast food restaurant I will eat at nowadays. Burgers are pretty good, the nuggets are a big favorite in my family. The fries are totally worth ignoring the carb count. ;) wish they would bring back the Bourbon burger though. Drive thru line always tend to take sooo long, which I can't see why. Speaking as someone who once upon a time worked in fast food, we would take big pride in not having people waiting to order or to receive their order.“

“Sometimes the neighborhood is a little rough and it gets loud and people start asking you for money. Other times it's empty and you can relax. The staff is nice and you know they don't get paid enough to deal with the craziness.

“We went and had breakfast there twice in one week, the breakfast was great delicious or seasoned potatoes are the best I really do recommend they should have it in the lunch menu,, either the cook in the back does not pay attention or she don't have time to go to the back to get the correct bread but it did happen both of the times I had ordered a biscuit with egg and cheese And I got it the English muffin with egg and cheese,, the second time we went my husband asked for the English muffin with egg and cheese and I ordered the biscuit with egg and cheese guess what we got our biscuits egg and cheese at that that day my husband did tell them something they did swap it out but it took a very long time to get it to us,, since it's open that you can view while they're doing your food the food prep was moving super slow,, our issue was resolved they're just little minor things that probably needs to be addressed by the manager or district manager to improve service.“

“I am not one to order a bunch of stuff. It's either one burger or one frosty. I haven't even had a Wendy's burger in ages. Ordered a regular double stack. Paid 4 dollars almost which I thought was insane but it taste exactly the same as it did 10 years ago. Something about that made me feel comfort. It was good and nostalgic at the same time. The staff there is also really quick , I always go when there isn't a line. I also appreciate that their food doesn't make me sleepy or cause inflammation. Was never impressed that much with Wendys but in this day and age, for it to remain familiar and keep its high standards for so long, earned a review.“

“This Wendy’s is generally consistent whether ordering through DoorDash or stopping by in person. The food is usually fresh, warm, and prepared the way it should be. It’s not perfect, but never terrible either—which is exactly what most people want from fast food.

That being said, the meaning of “fast food” is speed and convenience, and this location does have moments where wait times run a little longer. Peak hours especially slow things down, though I don’t think it’s from laziness. Fast food is not easy, and the difference between a smooth shift and a stressful one really depends on staffing and how busy the store is.

The team here is efficient overall, but they could improve in two areas:

1. Peak hour management – a bit more attention to order flow and communication would cut down delays.

2. Consistency of service – sometimes the energy at the counter feels rushed, and small details (like making sure sauces/condiments are included) get missed.

Still, they’re dependable, and that counts. A lot of reviews just say “slow” or “bad” without explaining why. I think it’s more useful to say: this Wendy’s usually delivers on food quality, they just need to keep pushing on speed and consistency. With those tweaks, it could easily be a 5-star spot.“

“Our cashier, Joel Loera, was especially gracious, helpful & kind! Joel let us sit & take our time to order in app. The team was slammed (3p-5p) but they made time to politely confirm we got our orders to the correct people & served deliciously fresh.The dining room was clean & stocked. There isn’t WiFi available & you have to ask for a key to use the restroom but considering the service, rewards/offers (the app lets you add one of each!) & excellent menu, it is well worth rediscovering this Texas staple.Thanks Joel & Wendy’s staff on Howard Drive/45 for a memorable visit! “I usually talk about the food at restaurants, but I'm leaving 5 stars for the gentleman with the neck tattoo running lunch on 5.23.25. Unless he is the owner or the owner's kid, he's not getting paid enough. He was ugent without being hurried, communicated well with employees, and very professional with customers. If I was not retired, he would be working for me by next week.“

“The young man at the order counter, Jay… (couldn’t get his whole name) is an awesome employee. He’s a people person and very efficient. As I watched him he was taking orders, cleaning and organizing the area and stocking items to ensure things are ready. While the others around nonchalantly worked away. Promoting him to supervisor/manager would be a wise decision for your business.“

“My Venmo Debit card was getting declined at the window so I called them, while I was on the phone with them. The card was still being declined, but the manager brings me my food hands it to me and says that I don't have to pay just pay it forward. So I got to look out for someone in the near future.“

“Today I ordered a baked potatoe with cheese for my side, turns out they were out, and was told they wouldn’t be ready for an hour asked if I wanted something else like apple bites, (i understood pies English was not his first language) lol my bad, I said sure I get my order but, how does this equate to a baked potato with cheese they could have just given me regular fries with cheese and before anyone asks why I didn’t ask, I did ask but he repeated bout the apples so I said sure. “One of my favorite airport foods at Terminal E. Don’t understand why people complain about “unbothered looking” staff. It is a fast food kiosk at an airport - what do you expect? fine dining service experience?? They handle hundreds of people (a lot of them rude) everyday. They don’t need to smile to you. It’s “transactional” food order. And it works great here. Also good food quality.“

“After two days of rain, rain, rain - I had to get out!!!
So, back to my favorite stores, but first a bite to eat!!! (I stick better to my shopping list when I put something in my tummy... ?).
Most all of the action was at the drive-thru when I arrived, so it was an easy choice to dine-in. Luis greeted me and gave me a few to check out the menu board. Decided to go with Dave's Single Combo and substituted coffee instead of fountain drink. The service was fast and professional and I got fresh brewed coffee delivered to my table as my bonus! Thank you, Luis! Since it was rainy, I chose to stay inside, even though outside seating is available. Light music was playing, so going over my shopping list was a breeze!!!
After enjoying my simple meal visited the ladies room to wash up. It was clean, clean, clean!!! This Wendy's receives a "thumbs up" and 5-star rating!

Parking: Designated wheelchair parking available in front of entrance door (2). Two designated parking spaces for "mobile pickup orders" to front of building.

Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance doors can be navigated in a wheelchair, but do not have the "automatic" button.“

“In this location the staff is friendly, you get fast service as well as through the drive thru. They keep this location nice and clean. Not much of traffic when we go. We have two locations we go to but this is our main one we visit. Always pleased to visit here.“

“I usually have good service at this location. My last visit they had a system failure at the drive thru so tensions were a little high.

Food wise, I cannot stand a burger that temp wise won't even melt the cheese.👎🏽 Chocolate Frosty is always on point.

“I ordered two breakfast meals through the drive thru and the fries were cold. I had to go inside and ask for a fresh batch. They did make them fresh for me which took an extra 2-3 minutes, but I felt like that’s something that the kitchen should be aware of: how long have these been sitting here? Don’t you also need to know expiration dates? How is time under the heat lamp any different? Everyone was nice and friendly and the rest of the meal was delicious.“

“Dropped through this place for my kids. The food was typical for fast food. Everything tasted fresh. Fries were hot, crispy and salty. Buns were soft and fluffy. The sprite honestly tasted like cardboard but I drank water and tossed it. No biggie.“
