“We love coming to Hye Meadow Winery. They have done an excellent job creating a laid back family friendly atmosphere with their outdoor space and more intimate experience at their inside bar. Stop in here to soak up the beauty of the Texas Hill Country and enjoy some delicious wines. You won't be disappointed!“
“Being used to California trips, we took a weekend 3-couple wine-tasting trip to the Hye, TX area…with admittedly low expectations. WE WERE SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! Both wines and accommodations are dramatically elevated in the area and will be giving California a run for its money in beauty, taste, and in finesse of skilled educated wine-makers.The 2-night stay in our “maisonette” at French Connection was lovely. Sheri was pleasantly attentive when we had a couple questions, and had obviously thought out helpful little details like providing easy internet access; cozy throw blankets; coffee maker AND separate hot water pot for tea; protein bars, cereals with milk, snack time items; and even a little first aid kit. All in a tidy modern little “home” of our own just off busy 290 highway - close enough for convenience and far enough for solitude and scenic views. Definitely recommend.“
“Always a great tasting! Ben’s wine is always in our top 1 or 2 in the area. And the bread is always a highlight as well. This is a place all about the quality of the wine and Texas only wine. We appreciate the tasting room simplicity and the small tasting experiences.“
“We are locals so we are always looking to try new wineries. I had some friends in town so we decided to go here. AMAZING! The wine, service and atmosphere was awesome. Our server was very knowledgeable and kind. Can't wait to come back!“
“My wife and I did the wine tasting featuring the Cicada Cellars Red Wines. All of the tastings were really good, but the Mourvèdre and the Bourbon Barrel No. 3 were both exceptional. Excellent customer service and sommelier advice. Love this place and will definitely be back!“
“We attended the 2024 eclipse here and loved it! We had a family reunion and everyone at Westcave was so helpful. Even when there were small mIsunderstandings they were very kind and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Wine was delicious! We traveled all the way from Africa to be here and I would do it again!“
“A wonderful host. I live in Italy and my hope for good wine was ....well. Not only can you find very, very good wine here, all to my surprise, also a warm welcome, wonderful cheese( a must with wine). A calm beautiful scenery that compliments a small diamond of tranquility with wine. Wonderful guest. Thank you Kara!A Swiss, living in Italy found a Paradise in Texas!Armin“
“we finally became members of this winery. WE have always enjoyed their wines and we usually take friends and relatives there to taste their wines. Love the friendly services and food is not bad at all... even have gluten free section. We have also visited their location in the Dallas area.“
“There's nothing like it in the hill country! A real gem of a place #youwanttobehere. Feels like home, super nice staff, and so many fun event nights, like karaoke, trivia, and different tastings such as Texas vs. the World and their yearly Texas Wine Jam event. Also, their wine club is packed with all kinds of benefits, including discounts, pickup parties, and monthly bottle shares. Dog friendly too!! Highly recommend this place to anyone driving to the hill country!“
“We had some family in town from Monterrey Mexico and they wanted to go to a Winery and Fredericksburg. We had been here before and thought they would like it and the view. All of us got hunger and ordered pizza with our wine. We had a wonderful time with the family. I wish the weather would have been better, but we made the best of it. They enjoyed it and want to come back next time they are in town.“
“We spent time during the 2024 solar eclipse at this place, and it was incredible. Excellent views, hanging areas, and bar, and the staff is what made it great. Some of the friendliest, down to earth people that we’ve ever met at a business like this. The museum had historic cars that you will never see anywhere else, that were driven by legends of racing. The golfing in the back was great touch, as well as the racing simulator, and games all around the place. The Foyt wine was top notch, and went down just a bit too smooth for our own good. Totally recommend to anyone venturing through the hill country. We will be back.“
“Very good winery in the French style, solidly emphasizing local varietals and what works best for this area. Knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful staff, and very good wines.Did the pairing tasting, good work at pairing, as well as with the small bites served.“
“Visited here for a girls' trip, and it was amazing. I've only been to Napa Wineries, and this one is definitely one of my favorites. The wine is amazing, and the setting/atmosphere is so relaxed yet fun! I loved the live music, atmosphere, and we were able to bring in our own food which made us savor our wine and truly enjoy it. We spent a lot of time here and just loved the experience! It is a great place to go if you are looking for a nice variety of wines, amazing service, and lovely people. Cannot wait to go back!“
“This place was absolutely phenomenal! Best winery I’ve been too in a long time!! The lady doing our tasting was so knowledgeable and kind and really loved her job. We never felt rushed, actually we didn’t want to leave but we had another reservation we had to get too. It’s new but don’t let that steer you away. It wasn't crowded at all and best wine we had all weekend.“
“Delightful experience. Sarah was lovely and knowledgeable about the wines because she made them! I thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of flavor profiles for a variety of palates. If you’ve been to Fred, but haven’t been to Serrano, that’s a big mistake that needs to be recified.“
“Our visit to Becker was something very special. Bobby rolled out the red carpet and gave our group of four the ultimate VIP experience. His tour was memorable, we absolutely won't forget our time there! Our tour included about 10 tastings, barrel samples, reserves, the private cellar, charcuterie and Bobby's vast knowledge of the history and operation of Becker. He is such an asset to Becker. If you are traveling out to Fredericksburg, you have a ton of choices in vineyards. Make sure Becker is part of your plans. You will absolutely love it!“
“The place is incredible and their wines surprised us. I didn't know Texas had this high quality wines to offer and I'm definitely interested to keep trying different wineries in the region. The service and information provided by Forbes (the pedernales representative at the tasting room) was top class. I can definitely recommend this experience to anyone.“
“Very kind and welcoming! Also, we like sweet wines and the server asked at first if we liked sweet wines and offered a taste of the sweet so we could decide which one we liked. The tasting room is very nice and homey with couches or chairs“
“Super cute spot outside of Fredericksburg, they have a brewery and a winery! A couple of us did a wine tasting and a couple of us got the beer flights. The Lager was good, the Blonde was not good, the IPA was decent and the Amber was a little too sweet. They have a good selection of different wines, dry or sweet. They have a wine tram which was soooo cute to take you from the winery to the brewery and back. A manager came over and checked on us, that was very nice.“

“Our group of nine ladies visited for a wine tasting, and we had an unforgettable time. Dawn, our sommelier, was a delight. Although each of us has experienced many wineries previously, we all appreciated her informative presentation. The wines were divine. Having lived in California wine country for years and visiting wineries around the world, I have pretty high expectations when it comes to tastings. William Chris did not disappoint. Chris, a winemaker and co-owner, visited our table and added to the charm of the experience. The setting in the hills and the beautiful grounds and architecture make this a venue a Texas jewel.“
