“It's been a few years since I've reviewed anything, but Peggy and I are back in the land of grapes and Jesus blood, aka Fredericksburg. We met up with some friends for a weekend of gluttony with wine and formage. That's fancy speak for cheese. We stopped at the Pontotoc Vineyard. Pontotoc was a community before they had an apocalypse/typhoid breakout. Now it's a ghost town. The only ghost I believe in is the Holy Ghost™ Anyway, the ladies had their famous sangrias and I opted for a Tempranillo. I'm pretty sure it's French for Temptation. But unlike Adam and Eve, I am in control. Unfortunately, we had eaten at a farm to table restaurant earlier and I had a Rev. Hank to toilet moment. I had more bubbles in my guts than any of the sparkling wines we've had. I immediately repented to my lord and savior. They say there's no fury like a woman scorned, but those people have definitely never blended a cheeseburger, wine and whiskey. The bathroom facilities are easily accessible, but a little drafty. You'll feel the angels breathe upon you while you rid yourself of sin. I highly recommend this place! Can't wait to return.“
“This place is so amazing! The venue is beautiful, the ambiance is great, the people are so kind, and the wine is phenomenal. My husband and I are picky about wine and this place did not disappoint. They have so many options that accommodate various palates. We had the wonderful Dan for our tasting and thank goodness we did! He is so knowledgeable and did such a fantastic job at hosting our group. We will be back to see him, 100%!“

“We loved our stay at Baron’s Creek in the villas. Rented a suite for our anniversary weekend and it worked out perfect. Love the fact that the place shuts down at 5 or 6 PM and the villas residents have the grounds to themselves at that point. Also love the fact that it’s quiet time at 9 PM as well. A great place to relax and get away for a bit. Taylor was fantastic to work with for both the stay and our tastings, etc. Just one of the many reasons we are members at Baron’s Creek Vineyards.“
“We had an absolute amazing time sipping wine in the dungeon! Tye, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the wines and history of the psychology-themed venue. However, I would advise Tye to be mindful in the future, and make eye contact with and engage everyone in small talk conversations. I don't believe it was his intention to shun people on one side of the table, but the impact was a bituncomfortable just the same.“
“Wonderful experience at Kalasi. We did the premium red tasting. These are the very best we’ve had in the Texas Hill Country. Very knowledgeable and friendly sommeliers. Food pairings with vegetarian samosas and the tikka masala naan pizza were excellent!“
“Finally leaving a review after more than 6 visits- we come for the ambience, the wine, and Austin (the owner) and Adam (the store manager). We are treated not just as guests but as friends every time we come. We love the Chenin Blanc, the Shiraz and Cab Sauv. Give them a visit! They're a little off the Golden Blocks of Main Street, but totally worth the visit. Thanks for always giving impeccable service and kindness! We could hang there for hours, lol and sometimes do.“
“Stopped in for wine tasting at wild seed farms and it far exceeded any expectations. Wild Seed Farms went beyond the perfect wine tasting setting which is very intimate, formal wine room. See the picture below with a great list of wines for tasting. You also have the experience of walking the farms and seeing all of the wonderful flowers, butterfly fields and just beautiful scenery set here at this very quaint, but sophisticated establishment. This is a must stop for anyone touring the fredericksburg area looking for a great wine tasting experience with so much more. They have a large in store retail center selling everything from yard art, seeds, flowers, plants and artwork. And on just a closing note thier wine was pretty good too. 5 stars and a round of applause ? ?.“
“I came here for my bachelorette, this was my first time in Fredericksburg and the first venue we visited. Let me say, they exceeded my expectations. Everyone we talked to was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. They made my group and I feel so special and made my experience one to remember! The wine was exceptional, i have never been a fan of red wine, until now! I bought 2 reds here! They were smooth delicious and unique in flavor. I highly recommend tasting Old 300, Souzao (my favorite) and time traveler (white wine). I highly recommend visiting this venue, you will not regret it! I will definitely continue to come here when I visit Fredericksburg!“
“Augustin Vin was great! It’s not a winery on 290, so it felt more quiet and serene. Westin was a great tour guide, she was super knowledgeable and has great info! We left the winery with two bottles, highly suggest the Petite Sirah and Celeste Malange.“
“We spent time during the 2024 solar eclipse at this place, and it was incredible. Excellent views, hanging areas, and bar, and the staff is what made it great. Some of the friendliest, down to earth people that we’ve ever met at a business like this. The museum had historic cars that you will never see anywhere else, that were driven by legends of racing. The golfing in the back was great touch, as well as the racing simulator, and games all around the place. The Foyt wine was top notch, and went down just a bit too smooth for our own good. Totally recommend to anyone venturing through the hill country. We will be back.“
“We LOVED our visit at Diamond Vineyards. Lisa and Celine were so kind, hospitable, and knowledgeable. We got to go on the vineyard hike and try different tasty treats. They answered all of our questions and were so welcoming. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!Backstory: We were supposed to go on a group vineyard hike but called the day before to check if it was still on due to weather. Lisa offered for us to come out that day for a tour instead since the weather was nicer. It was so thoughtful of them to reschedule for us and we had a fun time being the only ones on the tour. Keep in mind when you look at these photos that the vines are going dormant. Still beautiful but not as lush as other times of the year.“
“Due to flight delays, we didn’t get to make it out the main tasting room as planned, but lucky for us, Main Street had a tasting room! I cannot commend Mike enough to explaining the wines and other tidbits to us! I loved ALL of the wines we tried, and we tried comparison pairing. The wines were phenomenal! “The best wine maker in Fredericksburg. Rarig is an authentic wine maker. Loves his craft and is encapsulated a brand in his bottles. The wine is amazing. Grapes and varietals you won’t find any where. And then hits it with the classics. His Chardonnay, Cabs and big grapes slap.The back green space with pergolas and fire pits and seating are beautiful. They have taken this experience to the next level.Make sure you are a member of their wine club. The best treat every season.“
“Our visit to Becker was something very special. Bobby rolled out the red carpet and gave our group of four the ultimate VIP experience. His tour was memorable, we absolutely won't forget our time there! Our tour included about 10 tastings, barrel samples, reserves, the private cellar, charcuterie and Bobby's vast knowledge of the history and operation of Becker. He is such an asset to Becker. If you are traveling out to Fredericksburg, you have a ton of choices in vineyards. Make sure Becker is part of your plans. You will absolutely love it!“
“I've been to a lot of wine tasting in my life, a lot in Texas, and including California and Europe, I was very impressed with their wines. I tasted 6 wines and liked them all. Not typical of most wineries. Even my husband liked all the wines he tasted, and he is pickier then me! Bruce was a wonderful host and shared information on the various wines. “Martin, the owner, greeted me as soon as I stepped into the quaint wine tasting room. I told him that we want tastings, 6 people, and he immediately got the glasses ready. After taking us through the wines for tasting, I bought a bottle to have with our party outdoors. Angela, the owner's wife came out to check on us and see how we were. She was able to do that even though a wine tour had arrived. The facility is beautiful and the wine is the best I've tasted in Texas so far I .“
“We had a wonderful time at this new and impressive winery! The manager came over and chatted with us and told us all about Michael Ros wines and the history of its conception. “Stopped in at Fiesta winery after the teal/Tiffany blue (everything) lured me in (lol). It is my favorite color afterall. There was a bit of a crowd so I browsed around! Right when you walk in there's the wine tasting area and winery merch but way in the back there's also a super cute boutique! If you've never been to Fredericksburg, you will learn when you visit that they have the best shops/shopping experience! Fritztown is wine country but I come mostly for the shopping lol Anyhow, I scored on a few things, one being; the cutest German shepherd sticker for my hubby since he loves them so much! I'm glad I stopped in! Staff is so nice and helpful!“

“As members of Safari, we brought our daughter and son-in-law to enjoy the wonderful wine and atmosphere.Casey (KC) was in charge of our group and she was so knowledgable, professional, friendly and fun that our guests decided to join the club as well.On the other hand, we came back the next day to celebrate our daughters 30th birthday (yes, that day was her exact birthday), and even though we were all member now, the person that served us, denied any special treatment for the birthday girl by telling us that "as members, we already had a complimentary glass of wine".We left very dissapointed by the second treatment they (she) gave us.“
