Bombay Chowpatty in Irving, TX, offers authentic Indian street food and chaat that delights the senses. Known for its outstanding pani puri, the dish features fresh, crunchy, spicy, and tangy flavors that truly hit the spot. The pani is especially praised for being spicy, minty, and refreshing, making it a must-try for fans of proper chaat. The pav bhaji also receives high marks for its rich, flavorful, buttery, and comforting qualities, reminiscent of street-style food from India.
The menu includes various items like jain options, with some reviews noting that certain dishes such as jain missal pav can be just okay, and some items like ragada are served with potato instead of traditional ingredients, which could be better communicated to customers. The Dahi puri, dabeli, and misal are highlighted for their authentic flavors, evoking nostalgia and memories of Maharashtra street food. The food consistently brings genuine flavors and emotions, making it a favorite spot for those missing real Maharashtrian chaat in the US.
While the ambiance is described as basic and not very polished, the quick service and clean kitchen contribute to a positive experience. Overall, Bombay Chowpatty offers great value for money, with generous portions and bold flavors that keep customers coming back, especially for the authentic Indian street food experience.
