Taqueria Charly #2 is an outstanding taqueria located inside a Valero gas station along North Belt Line. The food is so good, with fully loaded and very tasty tacos, burritos, gorditas, tortas, and quesadillas. The exquisite Trompo Tacos are a particular highlight, noted for having plenty of meat and being pretty filling. The California burrito receives special praise as the best version in Texas. All food is cooked to order 24 hours a day.
Portions are a good quantity for the price, with some items like the quesadillas being big enough for two meals. The salsa verde is also excellent. There is no place to sit inside the Valero, but there is a small area with tables outside. It is recommended to call and order ahead for pickup because the line can get crowded, especially during lunch or dinner hours. Parking can be tight as the area is shared with other businesses. The late night staff is good and friendly. Loud latin music plays for a vibe. Overall, it is a good choice for tasty, hot taqueria food to go.
