Tamales Del Norte llc Reviews
The tamales tasted amazing! 🤩
Ordered 2 horchatas, 2 1lb chicken rojo banana leaf wrapped tamales, tostilocos, and Hot Cheetos with everything (corn, melted cheese, etc.).
One word: DELICIOUS!
The tamal literally melts in your mouth. The corn masa is so soft, and the chicken rojo is tender and perfectly well balanced in flavor. They weren't overly hot sometimes rojas pack a serious spice, but these had a great, comfortable little heat, thankfully! They were packed nicely with plenty of...read full review

Tamales Del Norte llc is a food truck in Killeen described as a diamond hidden in Killeen and an absolute gem. The tamales are the main draw. The chicken rojo banana leaf wrapped tamales are delicious, with soft corn masa and tender chicken rojo that is perfectly well balanced in flavor and packed nicely with plenty of meat. The tamal literally melts in your mouth. The chicken with red sauce and the chicken with green sauce are amazing. The chicharrón tamale with green salsa took one reviewer back to memories of mom taking them to eat tamales. The Norteños and Oaxaqueños tamal are the most comforting and completely addictive, tasting like abuela’s kitchen during the holidays. The banana leaf wrapped chicken tamal has a corn base with the consistency of grits, shredded chicken mixed with a savory red sauce, and a pleasant mouth feel. Other items include tostilocos, Hot Cheetos with everything (corn, melted cheese, etc.) that were not overloaded so they did not get mushy or soggy, elotes properly cooked to give the corn a good texture and not mushy, a chocolate cake flan with moist cake and firm flan custard, horchatas that were spot on not too thick and not watery, a fresh mango drink that was DELICIOUS, apple jarritos, and tamarind water. Prices are fair and portions are generous. The staff treats you like family, quick to offer a smile, a story, or an extra dollop of salsa verde, and one host explains the food very well. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. This is more than a restaurant; it’s a celebration of culture and community.
