“My son played at the black star baseball friend. Was looking for a good place for lunch before heading home. I like finding places that are local to the areaI visiting. The building is historical brick, has the the look and feel. Jessica the /bartender/waitress was ready to serve. I am a little picky when it comes to my beer selection but she didn’t not disappoint in letting me try some of the local brews I haven’t heard of letting me find the right beer for me to enjoy. I asked what was the most popular items to order for food, she recommended the wings and burgers. “These for sure are the most ordered.” Well my son ordered the wings and said he loved them. I ordered the basically burger and nodoubt it was awesome. Fresh meet made to order ready to go, bun was soft. If you want condiments it comes in packet form. But you shouldn’t need much with this burger, was very flavorful and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some sports on tv, cold beer, and a good burger or wings. It’s told my wife to remind me next time we have games in Kyle cause I want to go to this place for burgers. Hope this help people looking for a non franchise local place to eat.Dietary restrictions: DairyKid-friendliness: The waitress/ bartender Jessica was super friendly and accommodating.“
“Good visit. Burger was a bit overcooked, but other than that things were fine. Server was great, table was clean, a good experience overall.Parking: Standard parking lot, nothing to complicated.Wheelchair accessibility: You can get in here quite easily.“
“I’ve been coming here for years and I love this place, it feels like my own version of cheers cause I’ve come to know so many people and a lot of people know me. The food the drinks are amazing and the bartender always hooks me up. I will continue to come here till the wheels fall offf.“
“I love visiting this Twin Peaks to see the NHL games and eat + drink. Last night, Alannah stood out to me. She made sure my drinks came out quickly, as well as my food. She was even patient enough to swap the TV channel for me a few times to keep up with all the hockey games. She is a fantastic waitress and I cant wait to come back for the NHL playoffs!“
“I really like this place. The service and food are excellent. They have live music most evenings. You can sit inside or out. There are things for the kids to do and dogs are welcome. The bars are great and the beer selection is very good, both drat and container.“
“Don't let the stars fool you, let me explain. The food here is consistently amazing. Absolutely wonderful. The service/atmosphere is rated as such because it is still a bar downtown in San Marcos and there are times where they're just simply too busy for the amount of staff present. It's not a fancy place or an upscale place, so higher stars would be really misleading. Despite that, if I'm in San Marcos, I'm eating here every time. The Beef on Weck, Fish n Chips, and Philly Baked Potato are all top notch choices.Parking: Parking can be annoying based on time of day.“
“This is a really great place to see live music. Went this past weekend though and was really disappointed in security. We splurged and bought a VIP 6 top table. It was a great spot, elevated and we were having a great time; until after the Spazmatics took their set break. The 6 top next to us, arrived late and came with 7 people, no big deal there was plenty of room. However, during the time between sets it filled up to 15 people. I thought maybe once the band started again the people not belonging would go back to general admission area. But no, they stayed and were sitting on our table, sitting in our area and blocking our view at this point. So I went and asked security to please come and enforce the VIP are (only 6 of the people up here had wristbands). However, security basically told me, "Well they are having some kind of party"! Then proceeded to come to our area and basically told the party I was complaining so please try to stay in their area. Really dude, thanks for that! Needless to say it was uncomfortable the rest of the evening, and security did nothing to enforce the VIP 6 person limit. It was very frustrating, if you are going to have a VIP area then the rules should be enforced! DO BETTER BUCKS SECURITY.“
“This used to be a fun an unique spot in San Marcos to hang out and grab a drink. But it has issues. Let me first start out with the good. The staff is FANTASTIC and very friendly. The bartenders are lead by the awesome Rene(i hope i'm spelling that right) and Miguel. I haven't learned the names of the others yet but I have never had an issue with any of them and they are always so polite. You can drink at the bar and even order food from the Taproom. Now for the bad or what needs to improve. The Porch used to have a nice outside 'porch' area with nice chairs and even porch swings. That I always felt was the selling point of this place as when sitting outside i would constantly hear passers by comment on the swings and even come in to sit on them. These have been replaced by very cheap metal chairs most of which are broken now and for some reason an elevated table with barstools which isn't in the porch motif. The interior used to have nice comfortable couches and chairs but pool tables have replaced those. Its fine I mean business change with new owners but it lost a little of what it was. I would be fine with all of that, except the outdoor chairs, if it wasn't so hot inside. The AC barely works if at all and half of the fans do not work so there is no air circulation and in Texas during the summer you want a nice cool place to relax. They need to fix the fans, cool off the interior and put some fans on the exterior. In the spring time, fall and winter its a great place to hang out, but until they fix the summer issues, I can't say. It is better than when they tried to be a disco club during the pandemic lol.“
“What a great find! Stopped in for breakfast and had amazing service and great food. We look forward to coming back for some margaritas!Parking: Parking lot in backWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheelchairs along the side of the building.“
