“This is the second time I’ve been to Twin Peaks, and Naomi is one of the best servers I’ve had. She made conversation, came frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed. When I put hot sauce in my food, she was very concerned and brought me a glass of milk! She fed it to me, and miraculously, I felt better. Like a million bucks, really! When you come to Twin, please ask for Naomi!“

“Don't let the stars fool you, let me explain. The food here is consistently amazing. Absolutely wonderful. The service/atmosphere is rated as such because it is still a bar downtown in San Marcos and there are times where they're just simply too busy for the amount of staff present. It's not a fancy place or an upscale place, so higher stars would be really misleading. Despite that, if I'm in San Marcos, I'm eating here every time. The Beef on Weck, Fish n Chips, and Philly Baked Potato are all top notch choices.Parking: Parking can be annoying based on time of day.“

“This used to be a fun an unique spot in San Marcos to hang out and grab a drink. But it has issues. Let me first start out with the good. The staff is FANTASTIC and very friendly. The bartenders are lead by the awesome Rene(i hope i'm spelling that right) and Miguel. I haven't learned the names of the others yet but I have never had an issue with any of them and they are always so polite. You can drink at the bar and even order food from the Taproom. Now for the bad or what needs to improve. The Porch used to have a nice outside 'porch' area with nice chairs and even porch swings. That I always felt was the selling point of this place as when sitting outside i would constantly hear passers by comment on the swings and even come in to sit on them. These have been replaced by very cheap metal chairs most of which are broken now and for some reason an elevated table with barstools which isn't in the porch motif. The interior used to have nice comfortable couches and chairs but pool tables have replaced those. Its fine I mean business change with new owners but it lost a little of what it was. I would be fine with all of that, except the outdoor chairs, if it wasn't so hot inside. The AC barely works if at all and half of the fans do not work so there is no air circulation and in Texas during the summer you want a nice cool place to relax. They need to fix the fans, cool off the interior and put some fans on the exterior. In the spring time, fall and winter its a great place to hang out, but until they fix the summer issues, I can't say. It is better than when they tried to be a disco club during the pandemic lol.“

“Today's trip to Sean Patrick's Irish Pub was another one of those weird situations, where I should've been there before. Within the last four years, my college roommate and I have made two trips to San Marcos to visit our old stomping grounds, eat breakfast at Herbert's, and visit any breweries in the area. Although Sean Patrick's has been there since 2005, it never came up in any of our Google searches. We even drove right by it to look at the old Too Bitter. Now, here I am on a trip to Canyon Lake, and it suddenly pops up. That's why I headed over today.I honestly can't say that it brought back any nostalgia from my college days. I can't really remember what it was like back in the 70s when I used to go there all the time to party with my friends at the Too Bitter. But, I really liked the atmosphere in its current form. It has all the charm of an old small Texas downtown building and just enough "dive bar" attitude to make me feel very comfortable.I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed to get there and discover that they only had two beers on tap that were actually brewed there. I was also disappointed to learn that they no longer do flights. The website gives the impression that they have several different beers and has pictures of different flights. However, they do have a really great craft beer selection on tap. I tried their Good Juicy JuJu IPA, and it was pretty good. The menu has lots of interesting things to choose. I kept it fairly simple and had a patty melt with sweet potato fries, which were the highlight of the meal. The sandwich was not the best patty melt I've ever had, but it was passable. They call it a paddy melt, and have switched out some of the traditional ingredients.. I think the thick Texas toast washed out the other flavors instead of adding to them like Ryebread normally does. Doubling the amount of both the provolone and salt in the burger would have made it better. It's really only my problem. I am a fan of the traditional patty melt.I was there at around 1:30 in the afternoon. It was pretty dead at that time. But, about four other couples came in while I was there, ranging from college age to possibly a bit older than me.When my college roommate comes to Texas to visit again, I will definitely bring him to Sean Patrick's for lunch. But, I'm gonna go for some of the Irish selections.“

“I attended a rehearsal dinner here. It is loud in the building so it is hard to hear the bar tender, but outside is rather relaxed. There is a pool table and two dart boards inside. Outside, they have the hook/ring toss game, jumbo Jenga, connect 4, corn hole, and ping pong. The kitchen struggled to make everyone's order (about 30 people in the dinner party) and two people ended up having to eat much later than the rest of us.The man who took our order said it was his third day and he already looked like he hated working here. He was rather curt, never smiled, and looked annoyed while trying to bring food out to our group. The food was good, being able to sit around drink and play games was nice.Dietary restrictions: No gluten free bread options. No corn tortillas.“
