“One word…WOW! Visiting in town and went on a Friday night, not real busy got to sit outside and watch a storm approach. Met the sweet owner who made you feel like you were the only guest in the place. The food was unbelievable. Ordered fried pimento cheese, mahi mahi tacos, BHB hamburger (best hamburger ever in my 73 years) and cheesecake. Every dish was fantastic, even the leftovers the next day. Live music was fun and enjoyable. We will never not stop here while in the area and will recommend to all.“

“If you’re looking for a true Texas Hill Country destination, put War Trail Spirits in Llano at the very top of your list. This place embodies everything I love about small-town Texas hospitality and handcrafted whiskey.
From the moment you walk in, the staff treats you like family. Laurie, Bernard, and the entire crew bring a blend of passion, humor, and genuine care that makes every visitor feel right at home. They’re the kind of folks who don’t just pour you a drink, they tell you the story behind it, the land it came from, and the heart they put into it.
The cocktails are absolutely outstanding. Creative, balanced, and built around their own spirits, each one showcases a different side of what War Trail does so well. Whether you want something refreshing after a long drive through Hill Country or a slow sipper to pair with the sunset, they have you covered.
And the whiskey… well, the whiskey is pure Texas soul. From the approachable County Road 80 Proof to the bold, flavor-packed Broken Halo expressions, War Trail serves up pours that are unique, beautifully crafted, and unforgettable. These folks are making some of the most exciting whiskey in the state.
War Trail Spirits is more than a distillery. It is a destination, a gathering place, and a testament to the craft and culture of the Hill Country.
Take the Ride. You will be glad you did.
