On The Border Reviews

Barry's Bistro Bar & Grill McAllen offers a casual dining experience with good food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere features live music and indoor/outdoor seating, creating a lively environment that appeals to an older crowd who enjoy dancing. Service experiences vary; some guests found service slow and noted staff seemed distracted or uninterested, especially when the restaurant was quiet. The open kitchen adds noise, and the restaurant does not serve salsa, which disappointed some visitors expecting chips and salsa. Drink quality also varies, with some guests finding mixed drinks unsatisfactory. Despite these issues, others enjoyed the food and atmosphere, especially those staying at nearby hotels like Embassy Suites, where service and food received high praise. Overall, Barry's Bistro Bar & Grill McAllen provides a lively setting with decent food, but service consistency and certain menu items may vary.
