“A hole in the wall... literally a hole in the wall. Old school tortillas made by hand the way your Abuela use to make them. CASH ONLY, another sign it's gonna be good! The breakfast tacos were delicious. All the fillings for tacos were great except for the bean taco, and I usually love beans but these tasted very bland. The tortillas tasted really like they were made at home and the gorditas were .... amazing. The maza had an amazing flavor and they aren't stingy with the salsa. Definitely recommend!!“

My husband called to see if they had a waiting time and just our luck they didnt and even offered to reserve our table for our party. Customer service was excellent, and the food was chef kissed!! You can tell they make their food with love, it was so tasty 😋 overall this place is great and i cant wait to come back for those chilaquiles 🫢🫢“

“Tacos Matamoros so good. Told her we are northerners and she swapped out the charo beans for extra potatoes (baked with cheddar). Delicious smokey beef and they must have incredibly clean oil because these chips are so light and crispy. Anyone who ever worked in a kitchen will know by taste, these are amazing. Served with perfect avocado, juicy limes, pico de gallo, ranchero and fresh chopped cilantro & sweet onion. For light eating, 2 people can share one $12 plate. But you might not want to share because it's that delicious.“

“I live in Alice, I went to this place because I saw their place in u-tube, I am glad I did because their tortillas are almost as good as the ones my mother used to make. My wife ate nopalitos and cheese cordita and she said it was the most delicious she has ever tasted. I just hope the owner realizes the kind of cooks that he or she has because these are the best kind of chefs, they learned either from their parents or grandparents or both. My compliments to the cooks and if I were your boss I would give you a raise.“

“The food was absolutely delicious, like my husband says. “It’s a hole in the wall” hidden in plan site but reasonably priced food and the quality and serving is very well served. The ambiance feels like an old Mexican style house. They did take awhile to serve us but they were quite busy. I’d love to come again to bring my parents and try something new on the menu.“

“Gorditas Doña Lula is always our family’s go-to spot. Even when family comes to visit from out of state, this is a must-stop for us. The restaurant is very clean, the service is fast, and the gorditas are always delicious. My daughters especially loved the frijolitos con queso. Everything tastes fresh, and we’ve never been disappointed. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat.“

“This place was nice all the way around. Interior is nicely decorated and they have the biggest and widest tv I have ever seen. As soon as you sit down they bring you complementary bean soup, whole tortillas chips, a variety of salsas, and refried beans. We got the coconut shrimp for an appetizer. For the main course we got shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. Everything was choice. Highly recommend.“

“It’s hard to get a good home cook meal these days. Maria’s was tasty and delicious, eat part I paid under $11 for a fajita plate, with an enchilada, beans and rice. The meal hit the spot. This place is right in the heart of downtown. Recommend it if you miss your mom’s cooking. I for got to take a photo since I just dug into it. Apologies.“
