“The atmosphere here almost feels like I’m not in the Valley. The music is so classy and relaxing. I could easily find myself here at least once a week to either have a hangout with friends or have some quiet relaxing alone time. The tacos were delicious and not greasy. The beverages were great! There is a dress code which was not enforced when I went so I was happy to not be turned away as I was not planning to stop by I just wanted to try it since I heard great things from others. I will be back! 💕“

“I have been there a few times whenever I'm visiting family in Texas. It's one of the few vegan restaurants in the McAllen area and as of this year, is my favorite place there. I have tried the other two vegan restaurants now and I have to say that Maria Cruz has an extensive menu with a variety of Latin cuisine. The tacos, sopa and drinks are delicious! The plato surtido is very good too. My parents aren't vegan but they've enjoyed the torta and enchiladas as well. the French toast is awesome también. I love going there with my parents whenever I'm in town.“

“been here a couple times & every time I sit at a table the service is great ! There have been multiple times though where I’ve gone up to the bar and the service there is not that great. The bartenders are rude most of the time. I definitely would not recommend going up to the bar and sit at a table instead.“

“Can't say enough about how cool this place is, it's off the charts retro. The food was pretty good but very expensive. An old fashion cocktail was 13 alone my steak was 56 i believe. For two a nice meal plus tip was 200. They have a few less expensive meals, i would definitely go back to hang out and have drinks they have beer on tap that is cheaper I think it's 8 bucks a beer. They put a lot of thought into designing this restaurant it is nice.“

“Higher end Mexican food with more seafood offerings. Won't find typical burritos, enchiladas, quesadilla entrees. Loved the fresh complex flavors! Seared Tuna tostada (ordered a 2nd was so good) fresh and crunchy fish ceviche tostada, ribeye taco (came as a tostada) great flavor yet should have asked if I could get cooked med-rare vs well done and tough. Music was too loud (they turned down thankfully) well dressed staff gathered in group near our table and talked loudly like a social hour. At the price range of this restaurant should have kept it behind doors not around patrons.“
