“My favorite place to get sea food boil! I love that they come packed with chunks of fresh garlic. I’ve always left with plenty of left overs so no matter what portion you get you’ll most likely leave with lunch for tomorrow lol. Prices are pretty similar to Mr. Crabby’s.“
“This is the first time I went to Mambo and the food didn't disappoint. I had the number 7 grilled octopus in mambo sauce with shrimp fried rice and the empanada appetizer. Our server Adri gave us excellent service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations like the grilled octopus with mambo sauce. She even helped us take a family photo and went above and beyond. I would definitely come back here. I really recommend the food I mentioned.“
“Let me star to say that krab kings is my new favorite spot to get crad it was so good and tasty we decide to taste lemon pepper with spicy and was soooo gooooood we also try the queen margarita it was phenomenal we try hypnotiq with strawberries was our server jasmyn was so good and fast to get our order she was nice and helpful we truly be back thanks again Kaytlinnn ????❤️“
“Love love the atmosphere, and how attentive the waiter was with us especially with my mom since she was the Birthday gal….they recommended the best dishes on the house absolutely everything was super delicious….price for everything was decent…Ruben was our waiter and his “
“Excellent service from Miss Carolina, the quality of her work is amazing, super friendly, the way she greets you when you enter the restaurant is very nice. I recommend the Tlalpeño shrimp broth and we loved it. We will definitely return and order it. Thank you for the service.“
“I give 3 stars to the food as the risotto was not a risotto (creamy consistency), it was just a rice with almonds, dry, not creamy, which would have add some “sauce” to the fish. If it wasn’t for the lemon to squeeze, the meal would have been too dry. Otherwise, the flavor was excellent, just the risotto needs to be “
“Sweetie, Midtown Ceviche took me straight to the streets of Spanish America! ??The lobster roll was like a symphony of flavors, and that Maracuya drink? Pure sunshine in a glass! They've got that homemade touch that makes every bite feel like a taste of home. A must-visit spot, no doubt!?“
“It was a huge struggle between 3 and 4 stars. I settled on 4 because I know I'll be back. Please do something about your nachos. I ordered the nachos supreme for $10 and added fajita for another $6 and I'll never order that again. The owner/manager should to go Republic of the Rio Grande and order their nachos for $17...that's how they should taste. The service was very mediocre. Drinks sat at the bar, had to ask for water twice, slightly too long between check-ins. Like I said, mediocre. I can live with that, but my tip will reflect that. Not doing the 20% the app defaults to.“
“I had dinner here with a large group of veterans, which can quickly become hectic. All the entrees ordered were great and had plenty of flavor. My steak was perfectly cooked and the flavor was outstanding. I didn't get the servers' names but they were awesome and kept checking on us. To end the night we had an assortment of desserts. My favorite was the carrot cake, but others raved about the cheesecake and chocolate cake. I will definitely be back.“
“This was a return trip to the Rio Grande Valley area, and I asked one of my friends who lived in the area for one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. He recommended Costa Messa and it was fantastic. I had beef ranchero, which was perfect. The portion was incredibly large and I was able to eat it again the following day. I’m definitely going back. The staff was also fantastic. Checking up on me. I can see this is gonna be a regular place for meto dine“
“We always stop here when in the Pharr/McAllen area. They make the best Don Julio Reposado Margarita in the country, even better than the original location in Laredo. The service, the food (especially the charro beans), and the atmosphere are top-notch.“
“Never been here but it had kool groovy vibes!! Made reservations just in case. Wise idea! It's on the 2nd floor. Was sat near bar area, only 1 other table n a couple at bar. Friendly young male server, prompt, polite n respectful. Get ready to blow some serious money at this place. I believe it was $24 for a thin cut of fajita. You know as well as I do, that's literally the cheapest cut of meat. Food portions are na ting to write home about. Grab a burger or sandwich before you get here! I haven't had hookah in a while and was in a jovial mood; take some extra underwear: $100 just for that!! Someone sakelow dispacio!! Inside got packed real quick, big party in attendance as well. If you're perhaps looking to "impress" a valley taco girl, this'll do it IF not save a ton of money and hit up Logan's!! Total bill that night for this place- $350.“
“I'm a person that loves to explore every mom and pop or non corporate restaurants in the area and this one that never disappoints. I have gone to the pharr location and nothing but quality comes out out of their kitchen. This was the first time I got something from their McAllen location and it keeps up identically with the original location. Freshness, quickness and top notch quality is what this company produces time and time again. If you want freshness and good food, estray no more. Do it. You reading this review, go and get this epicness!! Got my order to go and it was just as good as when I have them in the building!“
“Food is great but can’t say the same about customer service. Table of four and our food took over an hour to get to our table. Waitress was distracted having long conversations with manager instead of doing her job. Will definitely go back but will ask for a different waiter.“
“The restaurant is small but the food is great. The fish chicharrónes are lightly breaded and they taste even better with their super spicy sauce. On cold days I like to get their seafood soup that comes with delicious white steamed rice (yes, their rice flavourful). The other items on the menu are also well done; you cannot go wrong when selecting anything from the menu. Service and price are good as well. I haven't had a bad experience.“
“My wife and I recently dined at Hacienda Las Mariposas, and our first impression was good. The venue itself has an elegant vibe to it, reminiscent of an old-fashioned, swanky Spanish homestead -- a place one does not go to parade their disdain for proper etiquette by wearing torn jeans or failing to remove their hat indoors. Suffice it to say, we had equally high expectations of the food and service. They did not disappoint. We ordered the mixed botana for two, and it was easily one of the best we have had in the RGV. The presentation was excellent, the fajita was tender and juicy, and the trimmings were packed with flavor. Our side dish of choriqueso was tasty as well, and the complimentary cheesecake (we were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary) was the best we had in years. The whole table was a feast for the eyes, to say nothing of the palate, and the portions were such that we had plenty of leftovers at the end. Our waiter, I should note, was very attentive from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, offering us something like the royal treatment - as my wife put it - and in so doing earned our manifest appreciation (read generous tip.) Granted, it was not the busiest time of day, but for that reason alone the best time for dining there. All in all, we enjoyed the restaurant. We found it to be a perfect choice for the occasion, and I can see it becoming one of our favorite haunts. We might even dine on the patio next time, the views from which are nice enough to fill the pages of a scenic wall calendar. Give the place a try. We highly recommend it.“
“Place is great. But just don't give your tips, come to find out all tips goes to the owner instead of the 1 cashier running both drive thru and front counter. That's very messed up. Si is f that cashier don't give you welcome smile, please be understandable instead of being a Karen and asking dum ingredient questions.“
“I was in heaven... the food was ecstasy to my mouth... way better than Ambra... and you actually don't have to share a bathroom with the opposite sex... that's just gross... no offense to the opposite sex... but the bathroom at LA Costa could use some renovation and a bit more polishing to match the rest of the high quality... brutally honest review.. sorry not sorry.. support local..“
“Their parriadas dont come looking anything like the pics make sure you know what youre getting and be specific. We were thinking we got fish fillets to share got one whole fried catfish :( bones n fins and all hard to share that. And the octopus were little tiny chunks not lik whole babynpulpis like the photos and the shrimp were like teeeensy salad shrimp idk ....but i was less than impressed. The rice was good but its like chinese fried rice flavor not at all what youd expect from a place named michoacanParking: Its a plaza thats pretty busy good luck getting close.“
“personally don't eat sea food but, I used to work here. lemonade is always freshly made and staff is always properly trained. the happy birthday song is always epic. and you're always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile! btw the plancha tacos are awesome!“
“El Pastor is an excellent place to enjoy the best "cabrito" I have ever had in the RGV Valley. A peaceful, pleasant, and very friendly place. It's definitely my favorite place to return to again and again to eat an exquisite Cabrito al Pastor. Congrats!“
“Really brings the feel of a traditional sea food restaurant from Mexico.. live musicians on occasions, lovely wait staff, and the food is basically comfort food.. nice and warm for the colder weather.. but when you get that fish fillet and a beer boy do you feel at home..“
“We’re only here for the month and are glad that someone recommended Dirty Al’s. We’ve been twice. The shrimp are great but I especially liked the scallops. Having fresh seafood on the East Coast spoiled me and I have to say that the scallops here were a very close second!! They were larger the second time but even when they were smaller they were as delicious! My husband liked the fries but I tried the onion rings and sweet potato fries and enjoyed them both though the sweet potato fries were a bit soggy! Their white sangria was amazing! Our servers both times were great. I only remember Juan’s name - sorry!“
“First time here, I gotta say the food was good, didn't know all the variety of fish they had and for the price it was decent. A variety of alcohol as well, nto to bad, a little on the small size the restaurant in while but seems to fit a good amount of people and has an outside patio to eat as well. Our waitress Caori, was very helpful, would come again for an event with my family or work events. Edna the manager was also very helpful as well, much appreciated.“
“I waited 2 yrs to go to this restaurant, and finally we went for my husbands birthday, which I mentioned on the reservation. The meals were just ok, and totally over priced. The wine was 20$ a glass. No bread prior to the meal, no card indicating it was bday, no house salad, so I will continue going to the Patio, which has as good, if not better food, wine is affordable.they acknowledge the event.Very disappointed. Also, if you are a high end restaurant perhaps you could have more choices of rum besides white, and dark.Vegetarian options: The beans were so hard that the dull steak knives hardly would cut them.“
“Had a taste for lobster, so off to the Mobster we go.Sat at the bar so we could watch the Astros....big mistake. Service sucked, wife got most of her huge dinner and after the rest was finished cooking, it was finally brought out!My petite lobster tails were cold....had to ask for drawn butter...also cold. Nothing on the baked potato which was hot, but bare, had to ask for stuff for it, biscuits came half way through the meal.....Big Ole glass of Blue Moon draft was cold and very tasty!!!!Went to wash my hands after the meal, 13 dirty tables.....2 tables in the bar area were full of kitchen ware......Place was only 1/3 full if that....no wonder 5, count em, 5 servers in the back yakking and on phones!!!Men's bathroom was gross!!!Every other restaurant around was packed....but not the mobster....wonder why!“
“My kids love to eat Chinese food. This is the place I will take them to dine in. The only thing I did not like is that my daughter wanted to take her Pepsi. The lady up front asked for the drink. Instead of serving the drink in a cup so she could take. We had paid for the drink already. This why I gave a 3 star in service aside from food and atmosphere. I would recommend this place. If only they would make that adjustment. Greatly would appreciate.“
“I came with my boyfriend to have dinner and our server Lupita was amazing! She gave us great service! She checked up on us and make sure we had everything we needed, made great conversation and made us feel welcome and very well taken care of. 10/10 we will be coming back!“
“Alfredo not only knows the extensive menu like the back of his palm but knows exactly what to recommend . Tailored to you, he makes you feel confident in your choice . He has all the amazing traits that a server should have . Amazing experience , definitely recommend Alfredo for your next visit to Mr.Crabby’s!!!!“
