“I have been there a few times whenever I'm visiting family in Texas. It's one of the few vegan restaurants in the McAllen area and as of this year, is my favorite place there. I have tried the other two vegan restaurants now and I have to say that Maria Cruz has an extensive menu with a variety of Latin cuisine. The tacos, sopa and drinks are delicious! The plato surtido is very good too. My parents aren't vegan but they've enjoyed the torta and enchiladas as well. the French toast is awesome también. I love going there with my parents whenever I'm in town.“

“We found these guys by mistake looking for another sweet-tooth location...I had no idea this Mom and Pop diner existed...they have anything you would want and everything is homemade (is everything homemade ? Lol). All our meals were delicious. We recommend it all. Thank you for an enjoyable meal and experience.“
“The scrambled tofu was really good and the different juices they have. The place is nice and it also has a store with plenty of vegan healthy things. The view from outside doesn't make the place too appealing, but inside is nice, and comfortable I do recommend this place . Updated from previous review on 2026-09-06“

“Food is ok, but I wouldnt recommend anything with mac and cheese. I've gotten sick from two different dishes both of them had mac and cheese.
Atmosphere: They tend to have the music playing too loud, even with my earbuds on i couldn't hear my video.
Service: They aren't consistent with the shakes. I dont think there is a set procedure ingredients for each shake.
The workers need to clean the tables more. Especially after the lunch rush.“

“I've never met them, but through some business dealings I learned that the owner of this place is, I think, a 2nd generation restaurant owner and from everything I've seen and heard, they are really good people. The food is great quality and the prices are totally decent. This place is definitely worth a try.“

“This has become a weekly stop for me and I look forward to it every time. Ingredients are always fresh, staff are amazing and prices are good. The chia seed pudding is my favorite both the regular and golden. I really like the cinnamon energy bites and cinnamon overnight oats as well. 10/10“

“First time here with my coworkers & we had a great time. Service was amazing, our server, John kept making sure we were good with drinks etc. Food was great, we had the classic sliders appetizer with fries, the four cheese Spinach dip with chips and the carne asada taco combo... 10/10 recommend ♡ definitely coming back!“

“The food was phenomenal! Steak fajitas with all the trimmings! Wow! Also, the Mexican Plate was spectacular! And our waiter for the evening, Ramon, was so polite, professional and helpful explaining some of our choices. He was prompt, courteous and very attentive on our refills, too. What a pleasure dining at this restaurant, mainly because of Ramon, and the exceptional meal. Thank you!“

“Amazing vegetarian options! They have spring rolls with tofu and peanut sauce that are so good and filled with fresh veggies. Every kind of tofu made to perfection. Vegetables are very high quality and fresh. I love picking up a couple orders of vegetables and tofus for my house for the week so we have protein + veggies w out having to cook.“

Great cozy atmosphere. Really top notch. Stromboli was big and great crispy dough. Good service. Reasonable prices. I even got dessert. 4.4/10, but this could be raised once I try the pizza“

“Good food, good service every time. Always consistent and dependable for a great dinner. Always order the fried spring rolls, noodles, greens and most stuff comes with steamed or fried rice. We ordered the beef dish and tried the rice noodles also. The food was all great. Hot and made to order it seems. There is always plenty of tables available and parking. They now have a bar also, super nice.“

“The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The customer service was so great, informative, and pleasant. The food tasted AMAZING! The Philly Cheesesteak, the Beefless Wrap, the Pumpkin Cheesecake, the Taco Salad! Packed with delicious flavors and very filling and good size portions. I can’t wait to go back for more ! ❤️“
