Fish Place is a hidden restaurant with no signage, so it is easy to miss. Upon walking in, service may start slow, but it improves. The menu is extensive with many good options. Regulars love the Fried Fish and Shrimp, Jambalaya, and corn, though sides can change. The fried shrimp and tenders are seasoned well and always cooked perfectly. The blackened red fish with shrimp is described as AH-MAZING, and the catfish & shrimp lunch special is a hit. The appetizer platter is delicious, especially the stuffed jalapeño peppers. For fried seafood, the fried combo (shrimp and oyster) has adequate breading with very large oysters cooked well. Sides like fried okra are very good, and red beans and rice have a zing, though it lacks andouille sausage. The small gumbo has a nice color with chicken, shrimp, and sausage, but the meat is overcooked and the gumbo is very salty. It cannot be recommended. Overall, Fish Place is a new gem worth a try for fried seafood, with many dishes to try, and customers will definitely go back.
