The atmosphere was really nice, and so was our waitress! Unfortunately the food was not up to par. To start off we ordered the queso, and it was very disappointing. As a kid I would come here specifically for the queso as it was spicy and smooth. Today it was just chunky cheese (clearly Velveeta with rotelle in it) which I could've easily made at home. (2/10) For the meal we ordered the fajitas for two, they were alright but hardly any meat, which is outrageous considering they were nearly $27, the beans were yummy! The rice tasted like it came out of a bag from heb. Hopefully this was just an off day but I probably will not be back to see if that's true or not.

I had a doctor appointment near this restaurant and so I thought I would try it out. Got there and the parking lot is so small there no open spaces. Could not have been more than 7 or 8 total spaces. The restaurant appears to be large from the outside but too small of a parking lot. The one large parking lot was about 1/4 mile away and my wife and I are in our 80s so we are not up for walking the 1/4 or more for lunch. Wish they had a bigger lot.

There is no way anyone has ever been to this place twice. It's TERRIBLE. I haven't been to all of them but I guarantee this is the worst food of all the Mexican restaurants in the area. They claim they have the best margaritas but they are very average. Chips - terrible. Fajita beef - terrible. Enchiladas - terrible. Refried beans - terrible. Rice was ok. If this restaurant wasn't located where it is, there is no way it would still be open.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and thought we'd try this place out. Chicken fajitas were really good. And let's not forget about the perfectly cooked onions and peppers to go with it. The pork tacos....... Yum!!

We love cantina del rio! The carne guisada, and enchiladas were fantastic. Eliana was our server and she was the best and was super attentive. Definitely recommend

Love this place! There's an abundance of seating, and the outside is gorgeous! The food is amazing and the service is always good as well. The prices aren't so bad for the amount of food you get.

I was very disappointed in the quality of food. I ordered the street tacos, and for the amount I paid for them, they were disappointing. They were not tasty, small in size and more fillers than meat. I've had better.
We love cantina del Rio! Everytime we come, it's amazing! Today we had waiter Jordan and he was fantastic!! Def will be back again and the margs were outstanding!!

Food is "eh" but the vibe is neat with the trees and river near. Great indoor/outdoor vibes. Margaritas are great but if you want good Mexican food there are much better options around.

The service, chips, salsa and margaritas are great. The pork street tacos were disgusting. They were swimming in grease and the meat resembled cat food. They comped my entree so I appreciated that very much.
