Atmosphere and service are great, but food was just ok. It wasn't bad, but was not equal to the price. Had Texas staple chicken fried steak, and same as most restaurants it was mostly fried batter with a very thin small meat patty. It's difficult to find a really good CFS with real steak.
One of my favorite dining experiences EVER.... And I do consider myself a well traveled Foodie!Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere! One of our go to locations for just hanging out on a weekday evening.The wait area is an experience of itself. Good live music will liven the mood while the drinks are and plentiful. This place is bigger than it looks when you first walk in. Tons of seating. if you want a seat by the windows so you can look out at the river, you'll have to ask and maybe wait. Otherwise, we sat right down. I got a chicken sandwich and it was really good. I'd get it again. Tortilla soup was worth it as well. Staff was friendly and the decor was definitely rustic gristmill. Yes, I guess that is a thing.
