I am always one of those who say, that the atmosphere is up to you, if you are a bitter person you are going to feel bad anywhere, but nevertheless in fact my family and I had a great time at El Malecón! My first time going there, I bought the Jalisco plate, I asked for this plate because it comes with beef, chicken and shrimps, but when I got my plate it didn’t have the shrimps. I asked the waitress and she brought me 5 shrimps on the side , but it didn’t taste the same at all.

Staff is very nice and patient with my sadly-monolingual self — but more importantly, *oh wow is the food fantastic.*It has dethroned Campo Azul and Los Caporales as my favorite Mexican restaurant (and, since I have traveled all over only to discover that no one knows delicious food as well as Mexicans do, that means it's my #1 favorite).In particular: the sopapillas and carnitas are world-class.
