“I’m finding it tough to rate La Guera… it’s a personal preference thing for me. I prefer ceviche that is served as fresh chunks of protein, rather than shredded. La Guera’s ceviche is a shredded style, a bit on the limier side, very clean white fish, but seemed to have a little flavor. She serves it with fresh avocado, homemade tortilla chips, and crackers. It tasted fine, but lacked the texture of solid fish that I prefer. The $12 shrimp cocktail is very good! Even the small is plenty of food. Medium size jumps up to $20! Small is all you need! Great, spicey flavor with just enough cilantro and citrus. I’m a fan!Our micheladas were great! Very good flavor and served with several bonus shrimp!“

“While visiting the area for work I drove past this place on the highway a couple times. The sign made me curious so I looked them up and found they were a taproom with food! Of course, I had to try them out. The service in here was great and the ambience was nice and casual. When you check in you're given a bracelet which you use to activate the taps for the beer you want. Pour as little or as much beer as you want, you pay by the ounce. They also have a variety of glasswear to pour your beer into. They have something like 30 taps. Mostly beer, but a couple ciders and two wines. The food was good. I ordered the california fries. They were not too big a portion and I was happy not having any leftovers. I definitely recommend this place! Stop in and support local!“

Banana Dessert was to die for as well as the espresso drink! Honestly you cannot go wrong with Chilmoli!“

“I normally come here and have amazing service but this past time I invited two friends and it was totally different my friend had to keep casing the waitress and the food wasn't all that like usually. I still love this place and will give it another shot but my friends will not sadly. I've gone about a handful of times and was never disappointed.Parking: Parking has never been an issue for sure!“
“Of all the places that in Texas that I’ve never found, this place is the epitome of Texas. So many great people, so many great bartenders. This place is a gem. Don’t come here in the winter. The BEST time to come here is in the summer.“

“Bad service, I wrote down my name for the bar table. There were some people there and I said to the front wing and there was no one in line or waiting list. 5 minutes waiting and a guy comes through the door and just sits down without being in line. wow Bad. Service and Manager such Good Bad service they need better front staff and manager. ............. Very bad ??“

“Exelent food and atmosphere ?“
“I came in for a "quick" drink, a good friend recommended this place just for this reason. Once inside we were welcomed by the staff and we were given explanations for each shot off of their wheel of possibilities. As i was given the opportunity to spin the wheel! The quick drink turned into 3 great shots, one of them coming for free, the wheel gave us a feeebie!“
“I had a pleasant experience here! My sister said the mixed drinks had less alcohol and more "mixed" lol. The food was delicious though! I very much enjoyed their jack and coke. There was also love music and the lounge feel was definitely there. Love the 20s/30s feel too. Definitely would return for another chill night.“

“The Toucan Lounge is a place that has been around forever. I had never been there and I was apprehensive at first; however, I was presently surprised. Some of the people that were there mentioned they've been visiting Toucan Lounge for more than 10 years. Persons were friendly. Atmosphere is becoming. We went on a karaoke night (we planned it that way) and was surprised at the talent that was there. Persons were really down to earth and not at all presumptuous. Prices were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised and definitely would like to return.“

“My husband and I discovered this gem on vacation last summer. It's farm to table freshness was incredible and welcome after eating out at other restaurants on the beach. We were so enchanted with their food that we returned two more times (brunch and dinner) during our stay in South Padre. It's about a thirty minute drive from the island. It overlooks a "pond" and is very close to the Brownsville cultural center I.e. Art museum and Zoo. Parking could be better but all in all it was worth the drive, the menu is amazing, the atmosphere serene and the staff were friendly and courteous. I highly recommend eating here and tell all my friends about it. I'm looking forward to my next trip to SPI so I can visit again.“

“Ok, of a club. Yet the parking there is no good. If it is the brownsville one, it is insanely small. Another complaint I have there they should get the city involved and what they are charging certain parking areas at night when parking is free. I find it ridiculous charging people for that. Now this is Brownsville, what I am talking about. As far as sanbenito, that's another parking issue. Park all of 77sunshine strip in danger someone can hit your cars. San Benito is not a very safe area. So keep watch and think about going to the club there.“
“This place is an old man's bar, a little more quiet than other local bars, it has a julebox where you play what you want to listen to, not too loud, abre to have a conversatión, never crowded, place where bartenders and older crowd like to go hang out! So if you are looking for a place to relax and have a few drinks with not such a big crowd and less noise, this is the place to be!! Cheers!!????“

My go to after the Sunday Market. It's so nice when a place does everything right every timeParking: Plenty of spaces in the lot.Plenty of tables inside.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap spaces clearly marked close to entrance.“
“Love the cheap happy hour at this local spot! They do Karaoke as well, which is always fun. There's a pool table and slot machines in here as well. Would definitely recommend checking out if you're in the area. I'm trying to leave videos attached to this review but it's only letting me put pictures. So that's the only one I took that wasn't a video.“

“This place is your classic hole in the wall. Located north of Brownsville in Alito, Texas on the side of the highway. It has been in the owners family for about 100 years. However, it started as a post office a bus stop and a general store. Now it is a chill spot to get good food with friends and have a variety of cold craft beers. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re a local or passing through. It is one several awards for their culinary offerings as well. It’s not your typical burger. For this visit, I had the turkey burger. As you can see in my picture. Along with onion rings and a full set up. Very tasty. Definitely come in and check out the flying peg the next time you’re in the area.“
