“If you have a chance to visit this place, do it.The owners made me feel welcome and were the nicest people you'll ever meet.Service was quick.The place has a bar / restaurant feel. There's music, pool tables, darts, and video games to keep you busy. It appears that they do karaoke as well.I stopped in for lunch so I can't speak of the alcohol or night time entertainment.What I can speak of is the smash burger. Delicious. And the fries were hot and fresh.I had sweet tea. You could tell it was day fresh and was made like you'd make it at home.They also have a reward card for repeat customers. “We were lucky enough to find Arlene's Soul Food & BBQ on our latest trip to Freeport, and we are SO happy we did! It's a small business located within a gas station and only has one table to sit at, so you'll probably want to do take out, but the food is amazing! Arlene, the friendly owner, gave us tastes of both the smoked brisket and oxtail she had available; both were delicious, as were the homemade sides and cornbread. The oxtail is available only on Fridays, and it's well worth going then to get some. Definitely make this a stop the next time you're in the area!“

“I got nine dinners (pork chops, chicken and fish with a variety of sides) for a card party I was hosting. It was a resounding success.
