“Everything was going well. Until I left. Walking up to my car, to find out that it had been broken into. They have no surveillance cameras, so they were no help at all. Management didn't even come check on me when they were notified this happened. So I probably won't be going back for a while. I just wouldn't feel comfortable. If you do hide all your belongings so that this doesn't happen to you.“

“My first time in Texas and we needed a place to eat. A few of us with food allergies or intolerances, so to say our orders were picky would be an understatement. Everything we ordered was delicious, our server was johnny on the spot with refills and answering questions. One of our orders contained an item the person was allergic to. Once the waitress was made aware she jumped into action to get a new dish going and brought the manager over just to make sure we were happy. From start to finish, the meal was awesome and I would highly recommend stopping into Jack Allen's kitchen if you are in the area.“

“Everyone in our family loved their dishes. Our server was backed up by the manager who made sure our every need was tended to. The Austin decor featuring music venues was noticed and appreciated.Vegetarian options: There were three veg options. I asked our server which she recommended and she said no question, the ravioli. It was rich and delicious.“

“This was my second time at the restaurant had bourbon pork chops yams and greens that were amazing and you couldn't have asked the staff to be more welcoming attentive and appreciative there's such a good vibe at this place on top of great food I'm going to eat my way through the whole menu I'm glad“

“The server was the best we've ever had and she was slammed for Valentine's Day but she never missed a beat. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant had reservations available on Valentine's Day and we are so thankful we decided to go! The noise level was perfectly fine as we were seated in their private dining area. Our food was just amazing. The menu is pretty extensive and requires some attention to know what to order versus what you typically order at an ordinary Mexican restaurant. If you go hungry...I highly encourage you to get the meatloaf. It's an excellent dish!“

The food was great and came out very quickly, even during the busiest part of the day when the entire restaurant was packed. Very easy & calm to get to; a great little spot!“

“Don’t let this little restaurant fool you, this place is a diamond in the rough! it is a rare thing eat a meal and be thoroughly impressed by every single item. I had the chicken fried steak, cabbage, green beans, and cornbread. “Really kind owner's that gave a lunch for me and my partner that we will never forget. We both got turkey legs mine had some delicious mac and cheese and his was loaded with the dirty rice and shrimp. Amazing flavor don't be shy check em out!“

“Went for the first time recently and had such a great experience. The servers were informative, attentive, and on top of their game. The environment is nice and warm, very family oriented feel to it. I orders a jalapeño, bacon cheeseburger and the portion and price were perfect. Fries were great, soda never reached empty, and the burger was so well put together. My only unsatisfactory comment would be the bacon was SALTY. Could taste it through everything in the burger but I’ll just chalk it up to the chef on shift maybe having a heavy hand haha no big deal. The pies look AMAZING and the Turtle Pie is outstanding. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice, hearty meal with great service. I will be visiting again.“
