“I stopped by this location for free smoothie week and I was in the area pretty far from my regular smoothie shop and I just want to say that it was such a pleasant experience. I did curbside which was wonderful not offered at my home location and as soon as I pulled in, the girl came out handing me my food with a big smile and was super kind. The food is awesome. I've tried nearly a half dozen shops within a 15-mile radius that promise a delicious fresh smoothie, but I don't go back for obvious reasons. While shopping in Wylie, I saw Protein Spot. I dropped in, checked out the menu, met the friendly owners (who are extremely knowledgeable about their products), and was so impressed that I sat down at the bar (with my daughter) and tried a large Snickerdoodle 25g protein shake ($7.00) and a couple of their 7g protein balls ($2.00 each), and were blown away! They were delicious, without any gritty, dry, or strange aftertaste. Even better, they will modify nearly anything on their menu to match your diet needs. “House Tamal is a little, out-of-the-way place in a strip center a couple of miles from downtown Garland. Unobtrusive from the outside, but inside is a real hidden gem. The restaurant itself is bright and clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is very good. We tried the tamales and street tacos. The tamales have a perfect balance between the masa and the fillings. The masa was very fresh and moist, fillings were well seasoned. We had the queso y rajas and the carnitas. Both were very well executed. Looking at the menu, they have a lot more than street tacos and tamales. The space is minimal, bright, spacious and clean and the staff bends over backwards to make sure you have an excellent experience. You might not go out of your way, normally, but if you're close, you should. We're getting several dozen for NYE.“
