When it comes to the soup; they have two types of noodles, wide or thin and spice levels ranging from 1-5. I was in San Antonio visiting the local sites and decided to order dinner from Asia Chinese Cuisine — and I’m glad I did! The portions were incredibly generous, and everything we tried was packed with great flavor. Easily some of the best-tasting Chinese food I’ve had in a long time.

I’ll admit, when I arrived to pick up my order, I almost drove off because I couldn’t find the door. They have a bright neon sign, but the hallway corner they’re tucked into was pretty dark, and the door has a dark shade on it, so you can’t see inside. I hesitated for a second, but once I found it and walked in, the food absolutely made the hunt worth it.

If you’re in the area or visiting San Antonio like I was, this spot is definitely worth a stop. Great value, great taste, and totally worth the slightly hidden entrance!“

It's unfortunate we have to go all the way to San Antonio for it BUT holy crap this is so delicious!!!!! We all agree its worth the drive for this food. “We recently tried Chef Joe Asian Cuisine and had a mixed experience overall. We ordered shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, chicken wings, and crispy fried chili chicken. Out of everything, the beef lo mein was definitely the best—flavorful, well-cooked, and the kids really enjoyed it. However, the rest of the dishes were just average compared to what we’ve had at other authentic Chinese restaurants.

The shrimp fried rice didn’t have much flavor, and the chicken wings were a bit plain, lacking the seasoning and crispiness you would expect. The crispy fried chili chicken was decent but not particularly memorable. While none of the food was terrible, most of it didn’t stand out or make us want to rush back for those specific dishes.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself has a pleasant environment. It’s quiet, clean, and family-friendly. The waitress who served us was very nice, attentive, and friendly, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. Pricing is also reasonable, making it a decent option if you’re looking for a casual, affordable meal.

Overall, I’d say Chef Joe’s is good for a quick bite and great service, but the food could use more authentic flavors to really shine.“

“I went there for dinner and got the hot and sour soup and kung pao chicken. I was surprised by the portions and ended up having to take a good bit of it home. The flavor of the soup was exactly what I was looking for and the kung pao chicken had a good flavor to it. I should have ordered it extra spicy but that was my fault.“

“This little gem has been my go to since they first opened. My kids growing up loved this place. They still come here too now that they are grown. My wife and I enjoy this pretty much every week! I love the fact you can call in your order and it is ready to grab and go within-10-15min. As mentioned by several other posts here the quantities are far more generous than any of the other locations I have gone to especially for the price! Great value. I love the fact you can also get the dinner special any time of day even during lunch time for a couple of bucks more and is plenty for 2 people to share. We love the cashew chicken and we have them make it spicy(they will add spice to any dish-kung pao style). We also like to add a bag of wonton chips for a buck. They go great with the soup or even by themselves and highly recommend the addition. This restaurant will continue to be our go to for tasty Chinese food.“

They had our order ready by 4:30pm. EVERYTHING was cooked to PERFECTION. The portions were BIG and everything was affordable. My entire family loved the food. I'm pregnant. This was the first thing I've eaten in months that didn't make me nauseous. In fact, it was so good, I couldn't stop eating 😋 This is going to be our new spot. “I usally get the sweet n sour chicken but wanted to try the beef n brocolli. I ask the waiter ifbit has water chestnut because i dont like it stir fried in my food. AND he described the beef n brocolli as tender beef in a savory sweet gravy with fresh carrots and brocolli and he sold me but the actual plate amazing. Pan Fried Dumplings were crisped to perfection and Pork Lo Mein had so much meat in it I was able to take some home and share with my pup (she approves). Got a coconut boba tea to go but you must try their fruit flavored teas, I got peach and hubby got strawberry. They are downright delectable. Oh! The egg rolls were my favorite because they were similar to spring rolls, thin rice paper and crispy. Definitely ordering extra next time.“

“Holy Moly! Just tried this place on a whim. Wow!! The food was amazing. So fresh and delicious. We got the shrimp lo-Mein. Beef brisket noodles, twice cooked pork belly and crispy dumplings. Wow. Just wow. All of it was amazing.“

“I went through the drive thru to grab dinner for my wife and I. We got the sweet and sour shrimp and the sweet and sour pork, both with fried rice, and an order of the rangoons, and a large portion of the lemon sauce. Both plates came with one egg roll each. For the drink, we got sweet tea. The pork was absolutely delicious. Fantastic flavor and the breading was fluffy with great texture. The shrimp didn't have any distinct flavor, and was kinda small/thin, but was crunchy and tasted good when it was dipped in the lemon sauce. Due to the size of the shrimp and the flavor being on the lacking side, that's why I rated the food 4 out of 5. The rice was absolutely delightful with a perfect balance of oil to soy sauce. No veggies in the rice or egg, but overall, it was delicious. The rangoons were absolutely perfect. Crunchy, thick, creamy, and flavorful. Absolutely fantastic rangoons. The egg roll was tasty. It was about on par with egg rolls from other Chinese places. Didn't really stand out, but it tasted good overall. The sweet and sour sauce was good and thick, but honestly tasted like it was from a bottle, however, most restaurants use premade sauce anyway, so it's good. The lemon sauce though... Damn.. that was amazing. It tasted freshly made. Smooth and it tasted like fresh lemon juice was in it. Divine flavor. The portion was a good sized portion. Definitely well worth the cost. To be honest, the portion vs price is actually really amazing. I paid around $32 for everything and we filled up for dinner and had enough left over for us to enjoy after we got home from errands. The sweet tea was delicious and fresh. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to grab some Chinese food. I used to frequent La Chinitas, but unfortunately that place shut down. Beijing Express, however, is a fantastic restaurant and is taking the place of my favorite restaurant for Chinese take out.“
