El Puesto La Tejanita is a hidden gem located on Division off Southside 35. This small, family owned restaurant is a must go to place, offering simple authentic Mexican food in an old small house type of place. The homemade tortillas are really good, with flour tortillas being great and corn tortillas so fluffy and soft as if they just made them. The breakfast tacos are freshly made per order and really delicious. The Monday MOLE special includes rice, beans, 2 tortillas of your choice, and a tea for $10, with a real good flavor. The Mucho plate features flavorful cheese enchiladas, beans refried in bacon grease, and basic tomato rice with good flavor from fresh garlic. The puffy taco is nice and crispy, and the carne guisada is very tender with the perfect amount of spices. The inside is cute, clean, and has ample tables, with great atmosphere and warm customer service. On weekends, expect a wait for a table at this hole-in-the-wall.
