Good signs. Convenient 2/10th mile from Apt. Parking space full. Restaurant crowded. Thousand Oaks Cafe is easily accessible from the street. It offers a choice of Mecican or American foods. One seats him/herself. Little mixup with menu item ordered from beginning. Waitress did not speak English. Waffle breakfast from the menu was not available. Had to ask for butter, syrup & fork. Old school diner with great food.
Me and my brother come in every day before we hit the grind. The staff knows our order by heart, and the food is always great. It can be a bit slow coming out, but honestly, we don’t mind—it gives us plenty of time to catch up and talk mess about whatever’s going on in our lives. It’s kind of become our little daily ritual.
Thousand Oaks Cafe serves delicious food at reasonable prices. Their tacos, including picadillo and carne guisada, are a highlight, with fresh and homemade tortillas. The upside menudo is also a favorite. The restaurant offers a choice of Mexican or American foods, with great cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, chili relleno, and puffy tacos. Good iced tea is available, and the cheese enchiladas special for $6.99 is a great deal. While wait times can be long and fountain drinks are not available, the friendly staff and flavorful dishes make it a local favorite. The food is always great, though service can be slow at times. Customers seat themselves, and the restaurant is often crowded, with parking space limited. Despite occasional mix-ups, many return for the good food and welcoming atmosphere.
