“Hidden gem located in the Medical side of town. This restaurant used to be a fire station back in the day. We've visited a couple of times but only for drinks and had an ok experience. This was our first time eating here. Stopped in for brunch. Wow, night and day difference. Sat ourselves and server attended us almost immediately. Good variety of food, priced within reason. We started with the fried mozzarella bites....not bad, thumbs up. Then moved on to main course. I had the Croissant Sandwich with sweet potato fries and the wife had the Bistec Wonton Nachos. Croissant was delicious. Crispy bread with all the fixings as messy as can be... Delicious. The nachos were really surprising. It was alot more than we expected. Very fresh and well served. My wife loved the fact that the chips did not sog out right away. Very well served. This visit was a lot better than the others. Definitely be back to try something else.“

“I had the veggie omelette. Rather bland tasting until I spiced it up with some salsa. I chose the hash browns and wheat toast. Itty bitty toast with some tasty spread on it. A generous helping of golden brown hash browns. Service was quick and pleasant.“

“We have been regulars here for years. It isn't anything fancy, but in an area that is drowning in Mexican food at every corn, this good old American food is refreshing. If you come from the midwest like me, you will love their food. Menu is burgers, chicken, pork chops, big breakfast menu. Their fresh brewed tea is the best in this area...made with fresh filtered water the tea taste awesome. Our servers are long time workers, they do their best to tend to you. This place is VERY busy. It's only open breakfast and lunch.“

“I've done take-out from Laurel Park Bistro, but today was my first time for in-person dining.Coming at 1:00 PM, an hour before closing and just after the rush, we were greeted with fantastic hospitality. Service was well timed and there was no moment where we felt not taken care of.The food was stunning and carefully curated. We had the soup of the day, french toast, and bread service. For the drinks, the french pressed coffee along with a mimosa and a orange-citrus wine cocktail, were exquisite. The alcoholic drinks were not too strong nor was it entirely fruity. The food never leaned into any path too strongly. Everything felt like it had passion and mindful care for it. This is a testament to the amazing quality of Laurel Park Bistro.Would recommend and go again!“

“Cool, eclectic, local lunch spot with a bright atmosphere and old-school flavor. Great lunch specials board and solid menu with American fare. Friendly, low key, comfortable, and very popular with those in-town and in-the-know. Very reasonable prices! In an artsy section of town with many antique stores and historic architecture. Definitely a great place to visit when looking for an alternative to strip malls and highways. Breakfast and Lunch, 7 to 3 pm, M-F. Closed Sat-Sun.“

“Always a wonderful experience when visiting this establishment. Gotta say we love the choice of free chips 'n salsa or free fountain drink almost every time with rewards program membership. They offer some of the best burgers in town with the thickest, juiciest patties around. Their "3 for Me" deal is an absolute bargain. I get the potato soup, soda, classic cheeseburger @$10.99 then order strawberry cheesecake for $3.99 more and worth every penny. Their cheesecake has a silky yet creamy texture to die for!! You'll thank me later, trust me. Bon Appétit!“

“This place is your classic hole in the wall. Located north of Brownsville in Alito, Texas on the side of the highway. It has been in the owners family for about 100 years. However, it started as a post office a bus stop and a general store. Now it is a chill spot to get good food with friends and have a variety of cold craft beers. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re a local or passing through. It is one several awards for their culinary offerings as well. It’s not your typical burger. For this visit, I had the turkey burger. As you can see in my picture. Along with onion rings and a full set up. Very tasty. Definitely come in and check out the flying peg the next time you’re in the area.“

“Food was awesome. We had a Philly and a Pastrami on Rye, with a cup of chili. Service was spot on. The fans made it a bit chilly in there and they noticed us and another set of people were chilly and turned it down without even being asked. Cute little spot, we'll be back!“

“Nice place for one or a family to dine. The food was just ok. I had a hamburger cooked medium that was very dry.The lettuce was not a leaf, as you would usually get in a quality restaurant, but shredded with the bad taste of the plastic it came in.I can't speak to their stakes as we only had hamburgers for lunch.“
