“We just had our Jack C. Hays High School 50th Reunion at Ivar's River Pub, Saturday, Oct 4th, 11am-2pm. It was an amazing gathering; the outdoor venue incomparable because of the gem of the San Marcos River view, the drinks and food delicious, the service great, and working with Denele Gunnarson, VP of Ivar's was refreshing. Thank you Denele and Ivar's River Pub for helping make our 50th Reunion so memorable! The 'spirit' of Ivar Gunnarson and his legacy is alive and well on the beautiful banks of the San Marcos River. “Great first time experience. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the country fried top sirloin with mashed potatoes, scratch baked BBQ beans with brisket and a house salad. Everything was made well. The beans were pretty good, a little spicy but I like spice. Not so much where it's uncomfortable but just enough to give it a nice flavor. The atmosphere was pretty good. Not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good meal and a nice conversation with family and friends. There wasn't a long wait and we went around 2pm. They pretty much got us seated as soon as we walked in with a party of 5. I definitely recommend eating here. We didn't pay the bill this time around but from the menu prices range between $15-$30.“

“I was in town for work and popped in around 5 in the evening. Chill place, older crowd in the day time on a Tuesday, so do with that what you will. Don't have any further experience but I did meet some locals that invited me to chill next time I'm in town. Mature crowd when I went, plenty of other places to choose from if you are not feeling it. I'd say give it a try!“

“Love Rooftop on the Square! It's my favorite bar on the square! Always plays the best music and the staff are friendly and I always get my drinks super fast and they always taste perfect! The shots there are so good too! I love the blue gusher, it's my favorite! Anytime I go out, I spend most of my time at this bar! Even if I don't know what I want to drink I just tell the bartender “I want something fruity” and they always whip up the perfect concoction and never fail me! The drinks and shots are so good! Staff is awesome!!“

“We were searching for some food late, and found this place. I was a little worried at first because there were a lof of bikers there, and well, you've seen those movies, but the lady at the bar immediately put me at ease. She was so friendly and welcoming! We had no problems at all. The burgers we got were great! This is a fun local place that you should definitely check out. We'll be back for sure.“

“Friendly & attentive staff, a fun atmosphere, and prices are very reasonable as well. Although the place was packed after the “Egg Nog Open” tournament, lunch service was quick and delicious. The manager definitely had the team firing on all cylinders. - Anyone who’s experienced most meals after golf tournaments knows how hard that is to do. I especially liked the locally sourced hand-made desert treats after the meal. Bravo!“
