“I stopped by La Madeleine for dinner yesterday and had such a great experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Marrisa at the front register. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful while I was trying to decide what to order. She took the time to answer my questions and gave me a few recommendations, which made choosing so much easier. The food was delicious, but what really stood out was the excellent customer service. Marrisa had such a positive attitude and made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. It’s always nice to be helped by someone who genuinely seems to care about the customers’ experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!“

“What can I say. I am impressed with Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. I live out of town currently and I ordered a pie for delivery online and I messed up not only the delivery time but forgot to add a note for the recipient. Completely my mistake. I called the store and Katie answered the phone, actually she answered every time I called (3 total LOL) I received a happy greeting and Katie was delighted to help me correct my mistake. “I've been trying to stop in since the grand opening. The stars aligned today, finally, and I was able to check the bakery out. I decided on a Tomato Basil scone, a brown butter chocolate chip cookie, and, thanks to Heather helping me narrow it down, a loaf of asiago & pepper. The scone did not last the 5 minute drive home. The cookie was warmed in the microwave for maybe 10 seconds and then devoured. These will be the things I crave when the bakery is closed! Just phenomenal! NOW....a little different review. Heather is the SWEETEST human ever. She let this adult-conversation starved SAHM just ramble on about nothing and everything. And, you know how you can just tell when someone is humoring you (for the business) and will immediately call their significant other to tell them about the super weird lady who wouldn't shut up and looked like death warmed over? That is not Heather! Such a sweet human and I wish her nothing but success for many, many years!!“

“It's a nice place, but if I drop into a neighborhood (or any) coffee shop on a Sat a.m. I expect a Sat a.m. "coffee atmosphere" - quiet, laid-back. Suddenly in comes a bunch of pre-teens, cackling and shouting. Too many parents make the mistake of assuming that we all want to see and hear their kids: teach them to recognize and respect quiet. Otherwise, as I said, a nice and convenient spot with a good selection for coffee and low-dB conversation.“

“I went to Crumbl Cookie back in December and tried the Grinch cookies, and they were honestly the best sugar cookies I’ve ever had. They were soft, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I still think about them months later! I highly recommend Crumbl to anyone who really loves cookies definitely worth trying.“

“Used them for a teacher luncheon and they delivered to our school. The elevator was broken and the two ladies carried trays and huge coolers up 2 high flights of stairs at least 7 times up and down. I get exhausted going up once. They had the most pleasant attitude.The food was delicious and the presentation of the trays and warmers was perfect! “For several years I have purchased cheesecakes from the bakery for my youngest daughter’s birthday. She loves the taste of the Old Fashioned original cheesecake. The storefront is a no frills no nonsense setting. This is because the bakery is a commercial operation. They supply their tasty treats to numerous restaurants in the San Antonio and Austin area, but they make time to serve the private customer as well. Just understand that they are a commercial operation. But believe me when I say the tasty treats are worth the trip over into the business park where they are located.“

We both like old-fashioned butter-creme icing, and not that new light, marshmallow-ish stuff that bakeries put on cakes today. We wanted a layer-cake with thick butter-creme filling, as well as icing on the outside. Emily's Cakes came through for us. The cake we got was more than expected and was absolutely delicious! We're planning to order another one this year, if we haven't waited too late. We need it by Sunday of next week 7/14/24. Is that even possible?“

Steve is not just a baker—he’s a baking legend here in New Braunfels, Texas. His sourdough is beyond amazing, but that’s just the beginning. The blueberry scones? Absolutely to die for—light, flavorful, and perfectly baked. And those sausage-stuffed rolls (kolaches, I finally remembered the name!) are warm, savory perfection.

But what truly sets Steve apart is the heart he puts into everything. When I was preparing a post-wedding brunch for my son, Steve made fresh bagels on his day off—just for us. Then, he personally delivered them so they’d be hot and fresh for the big day. Who does that?! Steve does.

From start to finish, everything was effortless—ordering, payment, and the incredible service. Steve went above and beyond in every way.

All I told her was that she was vegan and she could do whichever design she wanted. The cake was absolutely beautiful and more delicious than you could possibly imagine. It was super moist, she used fresh fruit on the top of the cake it was so beautiful and delicious so much that we dug in before getting a good picture 🫣🫣🫣 and the cupcakes was carrot cake they did not disappoint either.
