“I come to Shogun a lot but what I love the most is the CUSTOMIZED experience! Angel is one of the bestttttt chef. Honestly I had him once when I first came & EVERY time I come, I ONLY request him. His hospitality. His kindness & the way he interacts with my child. I just enjoy the entire experience. Recently I met Dayan, I had NO idea he was a manager. I never got a drink from here so I sat at the bar to wait for Angel to get off break & I requested a lemon drop. Let’s just say I’m here now the VERY NEXT DAY for another lemon drop. You can’t even taste the liquor but after ONE drink I’m there. Catherine serves me. She’s one of the BEST servers. I love the fact I can choose the server & choose the chef I want to prepare my food. I’m guaranteed a great experience. I love everything about Shogun & I’m just so happy. I love on Kuykendahl so I always stop by to enjoy. Tonight I’ll be trying sushi for the first time ever!! I appreciate everyone here even the hostess for an amazing experience from the moment I walk in. Madison and Rebecca are SO friendly and welcoming. “This location has been here a while, and it has always been my favorite!! The service really depends on if its busy or not, but honestly that’s every restaurant. Every time I eat here, I always get the FRESHEST sushi ever. I’m a huge fan of nigiri over rolls because I can taste the freshness of the sushi more. The only thing is, the fried rice by itself is a little bland but a lot of people get it with yum yum sauce and I think its meant to be customized. Give this place a chance! They are really trying their best no matter how you see it.“

“I think I found this receipt on the floor but I actually have been to Sarku Japan. The food here is delicious and packed with tastes, tasting amazing to the taste buds. My mother and I like eating here instead of the other places even though the others are great as well, my mother and I prefer here. “Excellent lunch — just as good as we remembered!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Saturday, and it was a great experience. The restaurant was nice and quiet, which made for a relaxing meal. We’ve been coming here for years but hadn’t visited in over two years, so it was exciting to see that the food quality is still outstanding.

Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We especially loved the spicy scallop and tuna hand rolls — always a favorite! The bento boxes were warm, generous, and full of flavor, and the miso soup was comforting and perfectly seasoned.

Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly. It’s great to know this place continues to deliver consistently high quality. We’ll definitely be back again soon!“

“My son and I go as often as we can. They have some of the freshest sushi around and their all you can eat menu has grown over the last year. The servers are hit n miss some great some not so great so make sure you are nice to the server and they will come back sooner for your next order and keep it coming. The food tastes amazing. The place is very clean. Highly recommend. They have a regular menu too and kid friendly food.“

While the hibachi dishes left much to be desired – with fishy-tasting soup, mediocre fried rice, and average steak – the sushi, particularly the fish's size and quality, earned high praise from my husband, a Tokyo native. Moreover, our encounter with the manager, Kristie, soured the experience further. Her demeanor lacked hospitality, and her approach to handling reservations felt unwelcoming and unnecessary. They have a great variety to order from and the food is always good. So everyone always gets their favorite meal . . I do have one suggestion for them though . Their restaurant is very nice but it always seems that their dine in business is not as busy as they should be . My suggestion having started in the Restaurant Industry is to create more light in the Restaurant . Also on days for Big Sports events make sure your TV is on with no Sound . Customers also like being able to see out and into the restaurant so opening it up will help . “I've eaten here and tone pick up orders from here for at least three years. The food is always fantastic. It's one of the only places my husband and I can order sushi rolls from without worrying about avocado (he is very allergic). I also haven't found spring rolls from any other place that are as delicious as the ones I get from here. The employees are always super friendly. The wait time for dine in food is super short. I find the music to be loud enough to give background noise when it's less busy and quiet enough that I don't feel like I have to shout at the person across from me when it is busy. I recommend this place to everyone I meet and have taken several people to dine in as well. It's also a reasonable price. I feel like im actually getting the quality and quantity i expect from their prices.“
