I have wanted to try Crumbville for a while now, but never seem to find myself in that area. Yesterday, I had a hankering for a cupcake, and it was rainy so I had zero interest in going anywhere. I found that Crumbville is on the Favor app, so I figured, why now?

I ordered the Blueberries & Cream Cheesecake cupcake. Wow, it was liking having a blueberry muffin, with loads of blueberries, and icing on top. It was so good!! I also ordered the Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake, Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Snicker Crunch. All of the cupcakes are just so fresh and tasty. They are literally the best I have ever had.

I fully plan on stopping in sometime to check out the location. I hear the service is amazing, and I cannot wait to find out!“

“Excellent soul food served with love! Darilyn and her family are amicable hosts, and the food is delicious! Heavenly Choices is my go-to for special events and catering featuring soul food. When I ran for public office in 2019, Heavenly Choices prepared meals for my campaign workers, and they loved it. Recently, I bought a sheet cake of Darilyn's German Butter Cake for a tour group from Rice University, and they loved it! My latest Sunday-after-church plate from Heavenly Choices included swai fish, okra, and blackeyed peas with a side of cornbread. I also bought a side of spaghetti and a warm slice of German Butter cake for my meal the following day. Suffice it to say, everything was delicious, even on the second day. If soul food served with love is what you are looking for, Heavenly Choices is the perfect place to go!“

She listened to my needs and delivered a cake that people are still talking about days after the party! The rice krispy treats were also delicious. “We've been going to them since we moved to Houston 10 years ago. They've watched our kids grow up. They've always come through with high quality custom cakes when we've called, whether weeks in advance or days. They came through in the clutch for my wife's birthday recently. “As my wife said, “Rise to Rescue”!! We had a late in the season family Christmas gathering and I had been tasked with the cookie decorating contest. I thought, “how hard could it be? Just go to YT and learn how to make icing, right?” Wrong. Outside of the deception on food network and kids baking championships, I knew nothing about cookies, icing or ‘piping’ other than throwing out those words occasionally-“hold on y’all let me throw these in the chiller real quick!” In normal male fashion, I called Rise Cupcakes the day before the event and the girl on the other end suggested the cookie decorating kit: 8 shortbread cookies-cut into holiday themes, 4 tubes of icing, and sprinkles. It was $28 at the time of this posting. I felt like a fool. I had budgeted a significant amount more money for this task than thirty dollars 🤦‍♂️. I clearly have no knowledge about the cost of these things OR this cookie kit is just an outstanding deal! They normally ask for a 3 day notice but they were very kind in working out the “rush” job with me. Went the next day, picked up the kit and that evening, kids AND adults got to decorating! Rise deserves 5 stars from me because 1) always super friendly and customer first attitudes 2) great selection of baked goods. I must confess, I’ve been going to rise since I moved back to the area almost 10 years ago. We have used them for big events (300+ cookie orders, their custom cakes, custom cookie orders, all the holidays and ofc a frequent flyer of the shop. Shame on me for just now writing a review. 3) Selection. It’s a bakery…if you want it fresh, you need to get there early in the week for cookies, cupcake selection is little bit stronger. But I’m a cookie guy, personally. 4) Design. They have an outstanding design artist(s) working there. The cutest artwork on themed cookies, for the holidays, seasons, and hometown teams. Last and certainly not least 5) Taste. If I had to pick my favorite cookie…idk…I love their chocolate chip, creme brulee cookie, buttercream pumpkin cookie, the shortbread is very good just by itself-add icing and it’s a very sweet treat! Don’t make me decide!!! 🙈. I love their cinnamon rolls-but if you want that, you have to special order. I think since learning they made them I’ve only seen them on the counter twice. Brownies, blondies, lemon bars, everything in between. The cakes are very special. You can choose between one and two tiers, they decorate with the fondant just like you see on cake boss; the taste is amazing. The texture and consistency of moist to dry and flavor is like my kids at school say, “a chef’s kiss” I left the long review with the different parts because nobody is perfect, and not any one business is going to 5 stars, 100% all the time every day. But Rise is so strong in all of those categories that when one thing might be a little off, the other areas make up for it. If for some reason you aren’t satisfied, go back and try something else. Like I said, I’m not a cupcake guy. But I love cookies. And I’m grateful to Rise for being local, small business, home grown, and absolutely delectable when it comes to treats. They will always be a favorite in our family.“

“I was looking for a unique dessert with nuts for my Dad’s birthday and saw on their menu they had a Dubai Pistachio Cake. I had no clue what that was, but it had pistachio so I figured I would try it. I was blown away by just how incredible, unique, and delicious this cake was! I can’t stop thinking about it, and I might have to go back for a slice just for me. Highly recommend!“

I came home and was highly disappointed. I threw the cupcakes away. Today, I made sure I had the right address and let me just sum it up in one word, DELICIOUS!
