“What an awesome experience! If you like Willies, you’ll LOVE this place. They have the best service I’ve seen in quite a while. The shoestring fries remind me of the ones at Houston’s. We’re going back again tomorrow!“

“Adorable little Mexican restaurant with good food. This was our first visit but we will be back to try more things! Prices are reasonable. Want to try the chicken enchiladas next time…. along with the gorditas.
FYI, the flour and corn tortillas are both made fresh in house… ?“

“Great find in the lower Hill Country/Guadalupe valley! Excellent menu for people new to Indian food and for more discriminating tastes. Staff is nice and helpful. The saag, tikka masala, traditional curry and tandoori dishes are all really good, but the garlic naan steals the show - order it with everything! I also enjoyed the chicken biryani - sort of a fragrant fried rice dish. This place has become our go-to, even with all the great little cafes and diners in the area.“

“First time visit. Was driving at night to get there. Dark at 6 pm. I'm still not used to, especially since the construction along and in front of the business certainly detracts from the entrance. It's tricky at night, especially if you're leaving and making a right turn toward US-281. If you cut the turn a wee bit too short, you'll be in some trouble. The menu is broad enough to cover most fried fare for a chicken place. I smiled when I saw 'gizzards', a personal favorite memory when I was on military assignment in Kentucky. The staff was friendly enough while taking the large order, offering suggestions and pointing out sides included with the selections. The prices were comparable, and the smells from the kitchen sure got one's appetite going strong. In a short amount of time, the order was boxed, bagged, and hand-carried by our server with both arms loaded to the seated part of the restaurant where we waited looking at the bigscreen TV.Not bad for a first visit! If the order was correct ( I will find out when I get home), then chances are this place will definitely be added to my list of places to hit when the hungries hit.Not bad for a first visit; just that the construction does detract a bit for hungry night drivers.Give this place a try...“

“Today, my husband and I visited Thai-Lao Orchid for lunch. Upon arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was quite crowded, a testament to its popularity. The interior was inviting, and we were intrigued to find an Indian restaurant adjacent to the Thai establishment. This was our first visit, and we were excited to try the cuisine. We started with Thai crispy egg rolls, which were a delightful introduction to our meal. One of the standout dishes was the Neum, a crispy rice with minced chicken, seasoned beautifully with ginger, peanuts, lime juice, cilantro, and scallions. It was freshly made and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed fried sushi. Yumm..yumm!! The butter chicken was exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared.The garlic naan was the best we have had in San Antonio. The service was impressively fast despite the lunchtime rush. The flavors of our meals were outstanding, and we each thoroughly enjoyed our selections. The portions of all the dishes were generous. A highlight of our experience was when the owner came to our table to inquire about our meal, which added a personal touch. Our server was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable, recommending several delicious dishes and making us feel welcome. She even prepared a mango boba tea for us, which was a delightful end to our meal. This was our first visit to Thai Lao Orchid, but it certainly won't be our last. We highly recommend it for its delicious food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere.“

“As stated from previous posters this place is off the beaten path. You will think you took the wrong road. You will think Google maps directed you to the wrong place as you pull up to a brown shack looking building. But, you have arrived!!
Make sure you go when you are hungry! So far our favorite dish is the Large Fried Rice Special.
We have been twice in two weeks. I don’t know the full story of how the owner ended up there. Looks like she had a bigger restaurant at one time. Please be patient when you go. The owner cooks all the meals after she takes your order.“

“I'm gluten-free, not by choice. Loved loved loved the chicken mole enchiladas!! Such a treat for me!!!!TexMex mole often has gluten as a thickener, but maize is the authentic way. Great queso and guacamole too. This will be our new regular. I can't wait to go back! It's usually too stressful and sometimes inaccurate information given which triggers absolute agony for a few weeks. I hated eating out. Thank you so much for having my all time favorite dish that I can enjoy!!! Kudos to the kitchen, wait staff and owner!“

“Went camping w my gf wh hates camping....needless to say it wasnt enjoyable. couldnt wait to get back to civilization and eat a hearty meal. We drove pass the resteraunt w/o noticing it...but luckily we did because there was a chicken fried steak of the gods wheel barrelled over to our table and dumped onto plates....i was so glad to finally make the non camping gf happy! Didnt last long as soon as ahe seen how much i tipped our (jaw dropping) waitress...the meal n drinks was $35 and i left $80 cuz i believe it was worth it...oh yeah the tall glass of water who brought us our drinks was referred to by Tara i believe....plan on going back by myself very soon!“
