“First time eating here although we've been driving by for years. I thought it was strictly a drive through restaurant until I saw someone recommend it as having great, freshly made salsa and good authentic Mexican food. Decided to stop and try it one day on our way into town and it did not dissapoint. The salsa was fresh and excellent, as were the chips and the food was authentic and very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is quiet and quaint. Will definitely be back. This place is a hidden gem.“

“Went camping w my gf wh hates camping....needless to say it wasnt enjoyable. couldnt wait to get back to civilization and eat a hearty meal. We drove pass the resteraunt w/o noticing it...but luckily we did because there was a chicken fried steak of the gods wheel barrelled over to our table and dumped onto plates....i was so glad to finally make the non camping gf happy! Didnt last long as soon as ahe seen how much i tipped our (jaw dropping) waitress...the meal n drinks was $35 and i left $80 cuz i believe it was worth it...oh yeah the tall glass of water who brought us our drinks was referred to by Tara i believe....plan on going back by myself very soon!“

“Great find in the lower Hill Country/Guadalupe valley! Excellent menu for people new to Indian food and for more discriminating tastes. Staff is nice and helpful. The saag, tikka masala, traditional curry and tandoori dishes are all really good, but the garlic naan steals the show - order it with everything! I also enjoyed the chicken biryani - sort of a fragrant fried rice dish. This place has become our go-to, even with all the great little cafes and diners in the area.“

“I'm gluten-free, not by choice. Loved loved loved the chicken mole enchiladas!! Such a treat for me!!!!TexMex mole often has gluten as a thickener, but maize is the authentic way. Great queso and guacamole too. This will be our new regular. I can't wait to go back! It's usually too stressful and sometimes inaccurate information given which triggers absolute agony for a few weeks. I hated eating out. Thank you so much for having my all time favorite dish that I can enjoy!!! Kudos to the kitchen, wait staff and owner!“

“My family and I have gone to Thai Lao Orchid for 5 years. The food and service have consistently been excellent. They have now expanded to offer menu items from their sister restaurant next door Taj Majal. We always order the garlic butter naan as our appetizer. My favorite dish is the bun with chicken! It’s the perfect dish, not too heavy and delicious! My daughter had the Tikka masala with a watermelon boba! I’ll have to add every flavor of boba is delicious!!!😋. I can’t wait to go back!“

“First time visit. Was driving at night to get there. Dark at 6 pm. I'm still not used to, especially since the construction along and in front of the business certainly detracts from the entrance. It's tricky at night, especially if you're leaving and making a right turn toward US-281. If you cut the turn a wee bit too short, you'll be in some trouble. The menu is broad enough to cover most fried fare for a chicken place. I smiled when I saw 'gizzards', a personal favorite memory when I was on military assignment in Kentucky. The staff was friendly enough while taking the large order, offering suggestions and pointing out sides included with the selections. The prices were comparable, and the smells from the kitchen sure got one's appetite going strong. In a short amount of time, the order was boxed, bagged, and hand-carried by our server with both arms loaded to the seated part of the restaurant where we waited looking at the bigscreen TV.Not bad for a first visit! If the order was correct ( I will find out when I get home), then chances are this place will definitely be added to my list of places to hit when the hungries hit.Not bad for a first visit; just that the construction does detract a bit for hungry night drivers.Give this place a try...“

“What an awesome experience! If you like Willies, you’ll LOVE this place. They have the best service I’ve seen in quite a while. The shoestring fries remind me of the ones at Houston’s. We’re going back again tomorrow!“
