“Best Chinese food I’ve ever had, by far. This is not the American style Chinese food most people are used to. This is very authentic. The owner, Patrick, is from Taiwan. The Mongolian beef is my favorite, as well as the jellyfish and “clear” noodles. Patrick will also prepare you a dish that’s not on the menu if you ask him to, just let him know what you’re hungry for.“

“It’s a nice place with diner vibes. I will say our waitress was one of the most cordial and gregarious person I’ve ever met! Charo was super sweet, helpful and welcoming. I was impressed with the historical setting as well with the causal family type vibe of the restaurant. The lunch menu was great, offering an excellent variety of tasty options and all well priced. We had a quick stop for lunch prior to our visit to nearby Surfside Beach. What a great find. Clean restaurant and restrooms too. Plenty of free parking. Nice area in Lake Jackson.“

“It's an old food truck but I'm giving it 5 stars for atmosphere because it's a classic food truck taqueria. I ordered the Quesabirria plate and it was top notch. The guy running the truck was by himself but cooked my food like a master chef. He spread a little chipotle sauce on the tortillas which really pumped up the flavor. Some of the best I've had. He gave me a free side of charro beans as well and they were great. Don't miss it if you're in the area, delicious! ?“

“Delicious food! Amazing fluffy and tasty homemade cornbread baked in a cast iron skillet. The best greens you’ll ever eat! They are seasoned to perfection. We have fried catfish and shrimp. They were incredible and fresh. We will be back soon. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff and quick service.“

“Went in with no expectations, and glad I did. The customer service was great. The ice cream is top tier. The chicken tenders and fries were really good. A bit salty but still good. 2 of my tenders were over cooked but by the time I finished my ice cream and fries I didn't care. Prices aren't bad either. Highly recommended.“

“My son and I LOVED this lovely family owned restaurant. Neatly decorated, clean as a whistle. The food was delicious, plentiful and the service exceeded our expectations. We will be back!
Vegetarian options: It is easy to find meat free dishes on the menu. But, if you are vegan this might not be for you. You'll have to ask your waitress if the beans, tortillas, ect. are free from animal products. I did not do so.
Parking: We didn't have trouble finding a spot, but the lot is small so don't come when it is super busy.“

“We had a really great meal at El Potrillo when we came into town from Surfside. We’ll be pitting them on our list of favorite places to have Tex Mex and Spicy Margaritas! The spicy marg wasnt on the menu but they were happy to accommodate my request Super friendly staff, btw….and I highly recommend checking this place out.“

“This place is AMAZING!!! Not only do u get to eat in peace while your children play outdoor games, but the food and drinks are Awesome!!!! FINALLY!
