“We arrived for dinner at 6:45 and were pleased that the place looked busy but not such as we’d have to wait for a table. The atmosphere and decor is absolutely divine!! The staff were all welcoming and friendly. We started with chips (homemade) and queso. Tasty! I had Mom’s Meatloaf with loaded mashed potatoes (because they were out of baked potatoes) with deviled eggs as a side. I recommend you order the tomato sauce topping for the meatloaf on the side. It was too sweet for my taste but I saw others enjoying it on their meatloaf. My husband got the chicken fried steak with the cowboy caviar which he said was delicious. We ended by sharing a slice of the lemon blueberry pie and, OMG(!!), don’t leave Plowman’s without having dessert!I will be sure to add Plowman’s Kitchen to our rotation of favorite sit down restaurants.“
“The food here takes forever, but id happily wait twice as long....best dive bar in Taylor hands down....even competes hard and heavy with Austin's best local spots....you definitely want to try this place...great food and great prices....keep up the good work Randy's “
“I ordered the chicken strip basket and my mate ordered the steak finger basket. Both came with fries, toast and gravy. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. This is not a fast food restaurant... perfection takes time and everything was made to order. That being said... I have been enjoying chicken tenders and steak fingers for over 5 decades, in multiple states, and have never had such flavorful food. The flavors of each individual food was so good that I lingered over every bite before moving on to the next item.I had a side of their hickory smoked bbq sauce but didn't need it. The gravy was piping hot and very fresh. The steak fingers were very tender, thin but wide, not too heavily breaded, and cooked to perfection. The sweet tea wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and could be blended if you prefer a not-as sweet tea.The tables, counters, entry and restrooms were clean and uncluttered.Dining room staff promptly cleared and cleaned tables without seeming to rush us, even during their busy lunch hour. The adjacent ice cream parlor has a selection of 16 different Blue Bell flavors (including the new Dr Pepper flavor) and is filled with happiness.Overall a very enjoyable meal. I will definitely return whenever I'm in Taylor.“
“I came here with my husband for lunch on a weekday. It was packed. There weren't any tables so we stood in line for one to be available. As soon as a table was available, the older couple behind us pushed past us to grab that table because they have "4 people in their party". It really doesn't matter how many people you have. That's just rude. That was an unpleasant experience. People do watch out for older people who takes advantage like that and get away with it.I had the fried chicken plate. It comes with 3 pieces of chicken and 2 sides. Great texture, a little greasy and a little under seasoned. But you can't beat the price for the portion.Don't let the outside and lack of ambience deter you. You have to come try it at least once.“
“We live in Round Rock and were craving an old fashioned cheeseburger. Well, we got what we wanted!!! First, the burgers were about 6 inches in diameter (it seemed like it). It had so much flavor. The whole wings were seasoned and fried perfectly. Focus on the FOOD and you won’t be disappointed. ?“
“Dietary restrictions: My husband and I had the 8 grilled shrimp with rice and grilled vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. I even asked the wonderful waitress if there was a new cook. She said the cook was in Cambodia for a period of time and came back with this new way of cooking. Let me tell you it was amazing and the portion size was big enough that we could have ordered one dish for the two of us. I will be back again and will recommend it to all my friends.“
“Louie Muellers is the undisputed king of the beef rib. When I find myself in Texas, I always make a stop at Louie Muellers. I love the authentic feel of the restaurant. You feel like you're stepping back in time. If you find yourself near Austin, skip the hours long wait at Franklin's and make the drive to Louie Muellers.“
