“The food here is simply delightful. Typically, the sauces can be heavy and filling 8n themselves. Here, after trying practically everything on their menu, the sauces are light, vegetables are always firm and crunchy, and the meats are plentiful within the offerings.

I had the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, which was delicious (it could have been a little more spicy for my tastes, but they provided chili sauce, which was fine), good sized shrimp, hot n sour soup and 2 egg rolls w/fried rice. Definitely required a to go box, all for 12.00. I was stuffed and a little shocked at the price.

“Shang-Hai never disappoints! The food is always fresh and delicious! The service is spot on and they do great combination plates. Been going there for a long while now. Anytime we try a different place, we get disappointed and ask why we cheated on our Shang-Hai! Lol! Nothing but good things to say about this place! Great food portions too.

Update: I always get the sweet and sour chicken and Pepper Steak with fried rice and egg roll. The egg rolls are so so good. We also order the Rangoon and they are great. My husband enjoys the hot and sour soup and I love both the egg drop soup and the wonton soup. The tea is delicious too.“

“This place must’ve gotten sick of being on the receiving end of all these bad reviews cos my lunch today was good. I had the Beef Broccoli which was flavorful and hot upon pickup and consumption. The egg roll and the broccoli however could have been a tad crispier. Totally fine by me, nothing major to see here. I’ll be back :)“

It's unfortunate we have to go all the way to San Antonio for it BUT holy crap this is so delicious!!!!! We all agree its worth the drive for this food. “We recently tried Chef Joe Asian Cuisine and had a mixed experience overall. We ordered shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, chicken wings, and crispy fried chili chicken. Out of everything, the beef lo mein was definitely the best—flavorful, well-cooked, and the kids really enjoyed it. However, the rest of the dishes were just average compared to what we’ve had at other authentic Chinese restaurants.

The shrimp fried rice didn’t have much flavor, and the chicken wings were a bit plain, lacking the seasoning and crispiness you would expect. The crispy fried chili chicken was decent but not particularly memorable. While none of the food was terrible, most of it didn’t stand out or make us want to rush back for those specific dishes.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself has a pleasant environment. It’s quiet, clean, and family-friendly. The waitress who served us was very nice, attentive, and friendly, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. Pricing is also reasonable, making it a decent option if you’re looking for a casual, affordable meal.

“had it for the first time tonight and everything was so good. I got the Hawaiian fried rice which was delicious and the vegetable bao buns were soft and flavorful. You get a lot of food for the price so for me and my family it was worth it. Will definitely return to try more things“

“I usally get the sweet n sour chicken but wanted to try the beef n brocolli. I ask the waiter ifbit has water chestnut because i dont like it stir fried in my food. AND he described the beef n brocolli as tender beef in a savory sweet gravy with fresh carrots and brocolli and he sold me but the actual plate amazing. Lunch specials 12 bucks with a soup and egg roll. Also both delicious.

“Was on my way to Sprouts and wanted a quick bite, wasn't expecting such an amazing meal. Pan Fried Dumplings were crisped to perfection and Pork Lo Mein had so much meat in it I was able to take some home and share with my pup (she approves). Got a coconut boba tea to go but you must try their fruit flavored teas, I got peach and hubby got strawberry. They are downright delectable. Oh! The egg rolls were my favorite because they were similar to spring rolls, thin rice paper and crispy. Definitely ordering extra next time.“

I ordered cashew chicken and the plate was over 50% celery(no joke) and the fried rice wasnt more than a beige tinted white rice that had no flavor. “Sunday 7:30 pm its not packed but they were busy with puck up orders in can tell the guy working the register was a little under pressure but the way he handled everyone he showed great patience. He even apologized for the wait for uber eats lady, informing her the whole time maam they are working on your order, maam its almost done, maam here you go sorry for the wait. I have over 20 years experience in customer service and those last five years was working at a high class upscale hotel 4 star 4 diamond and i was impressed at this guys understanding of time with guest, this is the type of people that keeps people comkng back this guy is increasing the business. I did not get his name, but he is short. Hispanic looking man with huge calfs lol he looked like he could kick down a wall with those calfs.“
